This wasn't much of a run, but I haven't had much street action as of late. My car is a 15 E63S, stock except for lighter brake rotors. I got to a redlight next to a black Hellcat Charger, and looked over to see if he wanted to run but his windows were up and tinted. I just took off like normal and so did he. We were next to each other and at around 40 he hit it. I wasn't really prepared and was one gear too high in 3rd, but we stayed dead even until 100ish and we both let off for the next light.

He dropped the window, gave a big thumbs up, and said he didn't know there were any Mercedes sedans that were a quick as him. I asked if he had anything done, but he just kept smiling. I asked if he wanted to go at the green, but he shook his head. I gave him a thumbs up back and we puttered away, he turned into a neighborhood pretty close to the light.

I know it was lowered, and had at least a new catback. Tips were black and it was damn near deafening even with my windows up. Couldn't make out the tire type but didn't look like PZeros from the tread pattern, looked R888ish? Stock 5-spokes. Based on the result I doubt anything else was done.

Would love to run one in the right gear and to a little higher speeds, I know both cars have long gearing and my car seems to accelerate faster at 100+.

After he turned, my wife said "Wow, I thought this car was quicker than some Dodge." Sounds like she's implying I should get it tuned!

Nice! From a dig it’s not even fun. Lol. My 16 E63 was a stop light terror.

Tune that thing and install down pipes ASAP. 800rwtq will do you well at that point:)

Let me know if you need a strong/safe tune. Have nice down pipes too!

Any roll runs?
No good roll runs. This was technically a 40 roll, but I wasn't really prepared. Was in 3rd instead of 2nd.

Haha yep. Rarely get any dig runs. Most recent was a buddy's RS5, and that race was over by the time we crossed the intersection.

That's coming later this year. Which tuner do you recommend? There is a local company that is strong in the Mercedes community and gets great reviews. I know there are several companies, do you have a recommendation on catted downpipes?

I’d look into AMS they do decent with the Benz stuff and it’s all quality. Had a few cars run through the shop. If not stay with the best renntech or even weistec.

Just get a face lifted 212 chassis with the 278 engine and 4matic. Look at 2014 too 2016 E550. Put a tune, exhaust and air box on them you’ll be 600+hp and 700+tq with awd. They’re sleepers... And they’re getting cheap. If you can deal with the split headlights you can get them cheaper with the 2012 2013 models. Only expensive issues I ever see with them is oil in the harness very very rare on these, transfer case clutch pack chatter rare on these or bearings also rare on these models, then the motor mounts collapse normal as the turbos sit right on them and some had issues with interior wood uv coating protection most got fixed under warranty. Very reliable car though and fast with just a tune.

15 E63S weight is similar to a hellcat but is down 130hp.

Also not much of a race unless the Hellcat is on drag radials as it's spin city from a 40 roll on the factory tires. AWD > overpowered RWD on all-seasons...
Beyond 100mph the Hellcat would have left you no prob.

Since you are in Cali, go with Weistec, they are top notch.
They are definitely on the list. I like that them and DME Tuning use handhelds, no PCM shipping. And I really like that Weistec is only a few miles from my work.

With baby #2 on the way, I decided to hold off on car mods for a minute, so no tune yet. But from what I'm reading about Eurocharged's TCU tune, I'm getting that first. Then some Red Star DPs and a tune, finally BlackBoost intakes.

Like it or not the hellcat is a force to be reckoned with! Just like how terminators cleaned up shop in the early 2000s...

Own a 2020 Hellcat and anything below 60mph will just blow the tires straight off. Also the traction control in track and street mode kills power a lot makes to allow the car to gain traction and you can tell right away. In sport mode it just spins tires until you let off the throttle. Good run but yea, these cars have extreme traction issues. Needs a good drag radial to hook
