So 8 months after my initial order/deposit, I received an email from the factory that my car is ready to ship! It was initially a 6 month expected wait, but Covid tripped up some of their suppliers.

In the meantime, I finished modifying the LT5 with heads, cam, ARP bolts, pulley, lifters, etc etc and made this video of the build:

Here are the photos from the factory of my actual car. It's shipping asap so hopefully it gets here sooner rather than later.

Love the all out track weapon you bought, just curious as I don't know much about the options......did you have other motor options besides the LT options?

That looks like a handful! Always great to have the boxers checking up on you while working in the shop

Nice to hear that the kit is on the way to you, and the engine is ready to go. Then the assembly fun will begin. Can't wait to watch the "first drive" video.

The factory actually won't sell you a kit unless you tell them you're doing an LS or LT, though I've seen ones with an Audi V10, 2JZ, Barra, and Lambo V10. I went LT5 because I felt it was the most complete, high HP option instead of piecing together an LS, supercharger, etc. The build manual has all kinds of LT5 specific pages which help a bit.

Haha, they're the best. They could easily go inside and lay on the couch, but choose to come out (usually bringing toys) and check on me, sometimes laying down and sleeping too.

Thank you, sir! I'm looking forward to it. I just can't wait to give my Mom a ride in it and scare her to pieces like when I first got my Viper.

While I LOVE that you're building big power...is there a point where its just too much and you'll upset the handling characteristics because you can't be smooth enough with throttle transitions? (with that much power on tap and only 90* of throttle blade opening, power must change dramatically with just a few degrees)
With turbos you can just use a boost controller to dial it down some...is there something like that available for a crank driven blower....?

Short answer, no there isn't. Long answer is that the good thing about a positive displacement blower is that the power is very linear, and tons of people these days have 1000hp street cars that can be driven with nice manners. I actually prefer this route to a turbo setup because boost with turbos can build fast and make for abrupt power delivery. In that case you just have to make sure you're pointed straight! There's actually an older Ultima GTR running around with a Nelson Racing Engines TT setup making 1750hp. At that point you really need a serious tire.

After 10 months and two days from initial deposit, it's HERE! It was quite the task unloading it from a shipping container, onto a flatbed tow truck, then to the ground, but it got done.

It's my first time seeing one of these things in person and it is TINY. I just have to inventory all the parts received and then I'm going to get to building. I'm like a kid on Christmas opening all the boxes with carbon fiber pieces, huge brake kits, intercooler stuff, etc. Check out some photos:

On a chassis dolly tucked away for the first night. I had to put my Boxer Lincoln in there for a pic though ;).

The headers are insanely nice and the welds are pure art. I had to put them on the engine just to see...

Wow. That thing is gonna be insane!

I bet it was nerve wracking getting it unpacked and out of the box.
