Geez isn't this the same company that everyone on Facebook raves about how great their alternator is? I mention nation's alternator and no one seems to care....

Aside from the welded on bungs and slip tubes is there really anything that can't be done by someone with a decent drill press? I've thought about doing it myself since I have a buddy with a lathe and a couple welding hook ups. I'd like to find a spare intercooler for it.

+1 I have several people in my town warn me about his production and all three of them were tied to customer service and alternator.

Are you modifying your stocker or using it as a reference to build your own?

I cut open and modified a stock IC for the j2 flow mod and tubes because my J2 IC is junk.

Some ask me why I cut open the stock IC, well that was to see how far it could be ported due to how much the divider shrouded the flow.
And so there was absolutely no possible way to get shavings and or any cutting oil into the water passages during machining
Welded her all up and its in the can now with good iat2 temps.

He tried telling me that the nation's alternator is overpriced and basically the same as his.

Daily posts come up on Facebook pages on what alternator is the best. I don't even comment anymore.

Sucks that you had problems. Did you get a refund?

With skills like yours why did you even bother talking to J2fab?

Because the IC was supposed to be the end all be all of intercoolers with all this "testing he did" looks like it was us who got the ICs were the testers.
And that's why I'm going to eventually buy a used cores, clean and mod them along with sell them and for cheaper, its on the many list of thing to do.
he claims do not deliver sub par parts, well that statement isn't true, because everything I got all had issues.

Cliffs: The 5.0 lower intake for their blower was a deal with MFT an Australian fab company. Looks like MFT thought they were doing design and the work but VMP took the design and having them manufactored in "Chi-na". MFT is saying they're out of spec and the injectors won't seat well with the rail and bosses possibly causing fuel leaks.

Damn....the ol LFP school of biz

subn. Have an J2Fab intercooler on back order through Lethal. I have noticed he isn't posting on FB. Last update was beginning of June. It did look like he was relocating to a larger shop.

Shady but this is why you read and write contracts. Auto performance business is a hot bed for this type of shit since no one has a staff lawyer or really looks a lot of this over. Just kind of verbal agreements.

Switched positions at my job recently and working on 10+ million dollar projects that take massive work and time. Start to see the importance of covering your ass. The importance of lawyers and finding out who has NDAs, who doesnt, and who owns the intellectual property through the project is a neccessary evil. That's why MOUs are key and need to be signed off on.

I am also waiting on an intercooler...
After looking at the pictures of your flow mod I got mine out of the box to take a look. I also have a couple of the dings on the barbs too, not cool.
How does everyone else’s tubes line up with the aluminum plate? I have some overhang, almost like they weren’t aligned well in the jig when welded

I agree. It's just a part of doing business, you must protect yourself. But....the flip side is those that choose to screw people over can build a nasty reputation for themselves....and when they need innovation/expertise/collaboration in the future, the word is already out those shysters are to be avoided. Shyster might have won the battle....but lost the war. Terrible way for a company to crater.....others might consider it karma.

Mine is the same. I took a fine file to take out those little nubs. The alignment on mine is the same. At the end of the day the flow mod is restricted by it's location. It's really the best they can do. Nobody will pay more for a flow mod to be 100% CNC. Although that would be pretty cool and perfect nobody will like the money it will cost.

its disappointing to hear that J2Fab's products are crap. I had real high hopes for the flow mod and intercooler upgrade.

Anyone have experience with the intercooler upgrade that LFP carries? Wasn't this the same one designed like 14 years ago by Griffin? Might be remembering wrong...

LFP Extreme Intercooler Chiller Core 2003-04 SVT Cobra

I know LFP isn't the best place but AFAIK this is the only other option aside from factory.
