I'm just getting the last few pieces together to complete my install. I have always planned on going with boost, but I was on the fence for a turbo or a VMP setup. I got a great deal on this kit used so here we are. My NA setup was as follows:

Tubular Radiator Support
Tubular K member (Stock A-Arms)
Drag Setup
BMR Drag Springs
Lethal Catless X Pipe
ID1000s
AED Flex Tune
Everything else bone stock (Converter/OAP/AB/Intake/TB/Airbox/Filter/etc..)

The car has seen a best of 11.87@119 this way. I have since done the following:

VMP Gen 3 2650 - 92mm Pulley
Rear Seat Delete (Bolts/Bracket/Speakers)

Blower Almost Done.jpg

Any guesses on track times or power levels I can expect? It will be on 93 for this year.

With a 92 mm pulley I guess you'd be somewhere around 650-670 on 93 octane. I have seen several cars with the same setup on a 88 mm pulley make close to 700 horsepower.

What do u have for a fuel system?

Nothing at the moment. Its ID1000s in the VMP rail setup. I have been looking at fuel systems and I'm just not sure what I want to go with. Id like to be able to run E85 eventually. I asked my tuner about running out of fuel and he told me I should be fine on 93 with this massive pulley.

Yea plan for E85. The power gains are just silly. Ull get bored and want more. The good thing about the Fore stuff is its buildable but way cheaper to just go (3) triple hellcat pumps with the triple hanger and controller. The new pumps are 525's so they move a ton of fuel.

Yea my old car picked up .4/5mph from just a fuel change. Im actually kinda worried that this setup will make more than the SBE can handle on E85.

I bent a rod on pump 93 gas at 700 whp so E85 will definitely be putting u on the edge but a LOT of it has to do with who's tuning it and how and when the power band comes in.

That’s kind of scary (the bent rod). I’m right there too, but my power comes on slow and smooth.

Hell, my NA tune was more torquey on the bottom and came on kind of violent and beastly.

The FI tune is smoother than the original stock tune. Almost disappointed me. Then I put my foot in it, and realized I have more control with my foot than I ever did...

Shaun has the TVS tunes on lockdown! I have the older 2.3 blower with his tune and my car went 10.2@140 with a 82mm pulley which is 9-10 psi.

How does it drive under light throttle? Is it a cream puff like mine?

Update: I lied.

Ran out of fuel or had a weak pump. Either way we couldnt finish the 93 tune without fuel updates so I just did a GT500 dual pump return style fuel system and switched to E85. Hoping to get it to the track on Sunday.

Its amazing how much more torquey E85 makes the car.

Looking for a single digit pass - Wish me luck!

Your so close, wait for it to cool off a little and get back out there. What did you do different on your last run to improve your 60. I'm guessing you foot braked it a little??

If everything plays out Im planning to go to the Coyote shootout on 26 Sept. I'll be running the 10.0 class but if I break out and go 9.99 I'll still call that a win. Best of luck, can't wait for you to get back out there.

Thanks Riddick.

I use to launch the car with the foot brake and the hand brake to get more stall speed. That worked for this car on motor and with my last car (2013 Vortech car) but with the VMP setup it seems to like a ~1500rpm foot brake action and just stabbing the gas. I think Ill try again in October and shoot for a single digit pass.

Good luck at the shootout! Post some times when you get back!

So which one do you prefer the vortech car or vmp? I'm asking because I am possibly thinking about doing a built motor with cams for the vortech or ripping everything off and going vmp

Looking for an honest perspective, not the dudeinblue who says it's the greatest because it was free
