I rode Harleys and a Yamaha FZ1 for years. Ive been bikeless for a few. I would love to get in to dirt bikes, maybe get some super cheap ones for the family to go out on trails when the kid gets older.

Any suggestions for vertically challenged riders on dirt bikes? Or should I just stick with quads? lol
well....I have a bike now ....and zero friends LOL. therefore YOU NEED A BIKE BOY ! TIME FOR A 2 STROKE 250 GET ON IT !

Possible thread jacking! Need some advice, daughter's 50 2 stroke started pushing coolant at track this weekend. Started doing it as soon as we started it. I plan on getting head resurfaced and replacing o rings. I pulled the jug off and the piston and cylinder both look good. Anything else I should be doing??

usually pushing coolant out under pressure is head gasket issue

shes a big hog. this is the biggest bike I have had on the dirt. she's been really well maintained. I ordered some goodies. I have a secret combo for the KTM carb. also got some orange plastics. Can't wait to ride this bitch in the desert ! I am about 2000 miles from Louisiana lol, but thank you for the offer.

260 isn't terrible. When I rode my WR450, I'd guess it was 280+ fully ready to ride. Going to a KTM 300xcw was eye opening. Losing 50 pounds made the ride so much more enjoyable.

I did it, pulled the trigger on a 2016 KTM 250 XC-F.
It has an Athens 290 big bore kit in with a tune.
Full front and rear EVO suspension
FMF Megabomb exhaust and muffler
Titanium pegs
Some other small stuff

without ever riding a bike, I was like screw it and asked the owner to show me a couple of things and took it for a ride. It had a ton of Low end torque and very snappy throttle. Thing just ran solid

Buddy let me
Take a spin on his 2020 crf250 recently. Not quite the motor that my yz250f had but it has great over rev, very little engine braking compared to the Yamaha 4 strokes and it definitely corners better then the Yamaha. Front brake is also miles better.

Thank you!

That’s an awesome pic btw. I can’t imagine going over a rock now let alone jumping after riding that thing yesterday. I have a ton of learning to do

I love KTM, best bikes of the bunch imo.

few things:
valve adjustment is super important, always check the clearance
air filters are VERY important, install new ones often, and use the "double" foam filters
KTMs have extra oil screen filters, always clean them
KTM chains run "looser" than most bikes, just pay attention to the manual
also bleed/swap both clutch and brake fluid

i lost about 40-50 pounds lol. needless to say I have all new springs ready to go in. Got a new headlight on her and front fender. Changed the oil (takes forever with 4 filters LOL). clutch has been bled. still gotta get used to the rekluse "auto". no shifting .....****in weird !
