a 2012 and up will get you the 3.6 pentastar. 2011 had the nice interior change, but kept the 3.8 motor. this is assuming you’re looking at JK models, not the new JL/JT.

my 2010 is a dog up top, even with 5.13s and removing 112lb of unsprung weight. i hate that Chrysler 42RLE with a passion also, the 5spd auto on the newer models are much better.

but here in a bit I’ll take the top down and my little one for a ride and she will be all smiles...it’s been the single most solid vehicle I’ve ever owned, now at 131k and i think we will motor swap it instead of selling at this point.

Where other vehicles drop 10,000$ a year in value a jeep may drop a 1,000 its crazy. I don't understand why any of the other jeep products don't carry the same clout, buy a Grand Cherokee and keep it for a year and your lucky if you get payoff when selling and thats if you made a couple extra payments. We bought a Sierra JK this past year it reminds me of riding in a old Fox body, ruff ride, ill handling but without the power, (about all of my foxes had SC on them so that may be the difference lol), that being said i think there will always be 1 in our driveway now hehe.

I have owned multiple Jeep wranglers. The new JL (2018+) is a massive leap forward. Build quality, ride, transmission, interior etc..

The flexibility to keep the top on, take off the freedom top (driver, passenger front only) or remove the whole top allows you to adjust to a number of different uses.

I have a loaded Rubicon and the Alpine system that comes in it is by far the best factory stereo system I have ever heard in a vehicle.

Thanks. I've wanted one for a while and figured **** it, you only live once and you can't take the money with you. My daughter loves it which makes it even more worth it since it will probably be hers in a couple of years.
Me too. At first I wanted the hard top but then I would have to figure out how to get it on and off and have a place to store it. Just seemed like a pain in the ass.

steve is your wrangler lifted? That has a nice stance. My mom has a 2019 thats stock. she wants wheels and tires. We live on back roads that are very rough, so i suggested 18s or 17 for more rubber. Being stock we figured on staying at or under a 33 by 11.5 or so. Every wheel she has picked out has been 20s. and none of them are available in 18 or 17. she didnt find any she like in 17 or 18 so now she is considering a mild lift that will allow 35X12.5 for better driveability and wheel protection for dirt roads. Nothing crazy offroad wise, just rough dirt logging roads with mild mud puddles. At what point does one really start pushing the little 2.0 powerwise. Im not sure what she has for rear end gearing. I know more about trucks, not much with Jeeps. I told her we want to do our homework before pulling the trigger. Buy once, cry once as they say.

My jeep has just rubicon suspension swap for now. It has 315/70/17 Patagonias. I did swap to rubicon fenders or it would be rubbing when offroad/flexing.

If not offroading, no problem. The rubi suspension lifted it about .5 or so and the tires about 1.5-1.75”

Its high enough that we short people need the side steps to get in lol.

The 8spd trans handles the 35s no problem reardless of gearing. The manual trans does not.

The 2.0 handles bigger tires no problem due to its torque. I have the V6 which is fine but peope say the 2.0 handled them even better.

I would not go bigger than 35s on stock jeep except an auto trans rubicon.

Here is my friends bone stock Sport we put 35s on. All we did was remove the lamo euro fenders at the front bumpers. This is the jeep we are currently lifting. Its going to be HIGH lol.

Hes been driving like this for a week. No rubbing at all.

Sport and sahara have same suspension and fenders are same height, though different

Here is another friends sport (identical to the guy above lol)

This is a Sport with Rubicon suspension and a Teraflex .5” spacer front and rear. This would probably be perfect for your mothers jeep. you can get rubicon suspension super cheap and it rides really well.

OR, you can get Rough Country 2.5" spacer lift to use with her stock suspension. if you use both, it will sit high. that's what we're doing today lol. unless you're mom wants to see over traffic lol.

the rubi suspension has a natural rake to it which i dont care so much for. the RC spacer lift levels it out. 2.5" up front, 2" in the rear. only $200.

both are easy installs.

Got tired of having 3 different remotes in our Jeep so I improvised — I have maybe 14$ and my time tied up in it. Wired up so the key has to be in the on position before it will work (it sits outside most of the time) . Misplaced pic see next page sorry guys lol
