I'm embarrassed that this horrible example of a State Trooper works in my home state. He didn't know he was being filmed, and guaranteed within the week he'll be fired. And hopefully lose some of his pension. He said in the video he has 18 months remaining and can't wait to leave the job. No worries, you're about to enter early retirement.

Watch the whole video if you can. This guy is a freaking loose cannon. Big time. The video is all over the Internet. Some of you may have already seen it. My daughter sent it to me this morning. I think it happened a couple of days ago.

Connecticut state trooper taken off the road after stopped motorist records tirade

A state trooper was placed on desk duty after a driver recorded an expletive-laced tirade in which the trooper scorned his job and derided the motoring public.

The trooper’s behavior in a YouTube video of the traffic stop Monday “is disturbing,” state police Col. Stavros Mellekas said in a prepared statement, but does not reflect the great work of the men and women of the state police or the agency’s values.

Your mom
Yeah, he got baited, but he also didn't act in a manner that was becoming while in uniform. You're a professional, got to act like it. Some desk time for a couple of months is the worst that should happen to him, but I can't see termination as a fitting discipline. No need for a write up either, just a verbal warning.

....... that prick that thinks its his job to police the police....

I mostly agree with your rant, but honestly, who is policing the police? In my area (and EVERYWHERE else too, I'm guessing), cops all stand by the whole "professional courtesy" crap. In other words, if you're a off-duty cop and you get bagged for speeding and/or virtually any other moving violation, the officer on duty lets you go. I've seen it many times during ride-alongs and hanging out with my best bud (a local detective). This protection even extends to civilian family members.

I’m on the Troopers side. This is what’s wrong with this country. That kid, who prob hasn’t done shit in his pathetic life, gets off thinking he can disrespect an Officer like that. I wish the officer could’ve beat the shit out of him, just like my old man would’ve done to me if I was in that video. I swore at my father once, when I was 15. I woke up on the kitchen floor a little while later. Best thing my dad ever taught me. Took that lesson all the way into the Marines with me. Never forgot it.

Guy serves his community every day. Day in and day out. Grinding away. Putting his life on the line and dealing with pieces of crap most of the time.....and you wanna see him loose his pension?? That’s a bit rash, no? Looses his pension that negatively effects his family, but would make you feel better? I don’t get this mentality.
