I posted pix of my car back in Dec. 2017 (post #718) with the Dura Bright Alcoa's and realized I had not added a picture with the Black Alcoa's............

^^^^^Not the best angle, but the same 275/325 tire combo as my Dura Bright finish Alcoa's

Always liked the red/black look on the S197's. Looks great!

Thanks, and Yes! When someone mentions "Hot Looking!" (for any car)........<<<That matches the description.

...................and OCD set in when I was looking for my car. I knew it was going to go directly to Las Vegas for the Super Snake upgrade, and I knew Shelby was immediately going to strip off all of the brand new Ford stripes and install the Matte Black Super Snake stripes. I could find plenty of Torch Red w/White stripes and a few stripe deletes, but I wanted my car to look like the description on the original Ford window sticker, so I searched until I found the exact car I was looking for, all options including Shaker 1000 instead of the NAV/Shaker 500 (back then it was one or the other) and also Black stripes and this car was it!!

"If" I would have started my search 2 months earlier I could have ordered it, but I was late for the 2008 production order time so I had to find a car already built that was optioned exactly as I wanted. One would ask.....Why didn't you just order a 2009?? <<<That is a Great question also.....2007/2008 were the only two years on a GT500 that the Sat. Radio (and it's antenna) could be ordered as a N/C delete option. I did not want that Black pimple/hockey puck and it's hole on top of my beautiful Super Snake trunk lid, so it had to be a 2008, and I wanted HID's so it could not be a 2007......2009-up Sat. Radio was standard with no delete option.

Your GT-500 does look awesome, Robert, with the black Alcoa wheels. You know, I never knew about the hockey puck antenna on the trunk lid of the 2009 GT-500. I agree with your thinking. It does look out of place there. Again, awesome car there.

Thanks Bob. I know that most all manufacturers install that Sat radio ant. on the outside of the car, many on the roof. Some of them now body color the ant. and there is even the market for the Mustang ant. to have a body color cover to camo the ant. I just didn't want it or the hole required to mount it.

This is soooo much more of a clean look, IMHO.....

..............but like I said, if a person wants this clean trunk lid look AND ASLO wants HID headlights, 2008 is the only year for that combination.

Or you could do like me and have to pay to get the damn thing taken out along with the third brake light :)

I have satellite radio and the antenna sits on my parcel shelf... somehow I'm able to get reception... hmmm :)

I don't mind the third brake light, that is a safety thing........but that Black pimple on my trunk lid? to me, that would have been an eye sore, even with Black stripes.......IMHO of course.

................and I will not hijack this thread any further about the Sat. ant. because this is a wheel thread......but I may have a 2005-2009 Coupe spoiler and sat. radio delete trunk lid for sale.........no holes, very clean, Silver.
