Raptor, & buy new. For what a nice used low mileage one goes for you can spend a couple more bucks and get a new one. It is wide as hell so keep that in mind if you go to the city a lot. The only thing the SRT has on the Raptor is the sound and Uconnect.

Thank you all for the perspective, zero city driving for me with an occasional trip to the airport. Booky and those that have the DSRT how is it on real choppy roads, i.e. chunked up asphalt and or ice???

The worst places I see are usually downtown when we would go to the Cleveland zoo or a museum, problem I encountered is that a usually normal intersection turned into a warzone after one small snow, freeze and plow session. Went through at night not driving like a jackoff and a crater ate my tire.

I basically dont want to drive on eggshells worried about cracking a rim or eating my sidewall every time the plows come out. Mind you this winter has been super mild and the plows have only come out once IIRC. I know this could happen any time on any car but a heavy azz sports sedan on lowish profile tires probably wont make it through a winter unscathed.

Now Im going to go tell me wife she was right.....

Buying a Raptor for driving downtown? Awesome. Lots of rich dudes do that here too. You don't need our permission. Definitely need Fox shocks for those potholes!

Or you could quit being a pussy and buy a Unimog like a real man needs driving around town.

I'm joking of course. Those Raptors are cool trucks.

Yea its definitely gonna be pampered in my stable, most off road it will see is some soft roading on the way to a hunting plot. Should be test driving some local ones next weekend, have a CPO 18 and a new 19 im lining up for Saturday morning. Curious how the fox shocks on the 19 compare to the 18. So far a Magnetic gray is my favorite followed by Performance blue and Ruby Red metallic, the gray isnt discounted as much so Im gonna see what I can do with the price/trade.

I cant remember who went from a Hellcat to an SRTDurango but Im figuring they were from the north as well.

At that price point, I’d grab the Lincoln Aviator
I LOVE the Lincoln Aviator!!
I wouldn't mind one, but I think it's a little too much class for me. lol I still like the loud exhaust/rumble, although, the interior in the Aviator looks incredibly comfortable after 8 hours of work.
I'm trying to talk my brother and his wife into getting the Aviator when they trade in.

I traded my Hellcat in on my SRT Durango last year so I could drive a fun vehicle year round in Wisconsin.

@Booky went from a Terminator to GT500 to Challenger Hellcat to Durango SRT.
He moved from this area. I miss his musk :)
But I’ve also owned an E55 and those AMGs and their rubber bands bend rim on the regular.
I’m also a Raptor fan simply for coolness, resale and they float over our terrible roads. They take the pot holes as well as the dune trails it seems.

SRT's have rough rides because of the stiffer suspensions

If you can deal with the size of the vehicle, the Raptor is EASILY the most comfortable ride I've ever had. It turns out that a suspension designed to run offroad at high speeds can handle most potholes fairly well. lol

I cannot count high enough to tell you the amount of times I've thought of trading in my 500 and F150 to get a Raptor. One problem, however is that the combined trade-in value still doesn't cover a Gen2 Raptor.

Another issue is that I utilize my 6.5' bed from time to time and would hate to lose that functionality.

It would be a pavement princess outside of some light firewood loads and an occasional tow of my tractor.

Would be nice to get my 3rd garage bay back full time for my tractor though... ugh.

Thanks a lot OP.

Dude I have had 16ft 2x4’s in the bed of my Raptor. Granted it was sketchy as ****, but I made it home...

The times it has come is most handy when I used every bit of volume and had the tonneau cover one. Packed to the gills for a couple family vacations.

End of the day, I could probably get by, but I do love having that extra foot.
