After doing a bit of reserach it looks like the crusher upgrade is probably 50+WHP minimum gain. Guess I know what I need to do.

Oh yeah you're gonna want that crusher. Look on eBay and my friend was adamant about looking at Facebook groups (no Facebook here tho). Found mine on here

I've never really seen a standard inlet 2.9/3.4 standard inlet stock long block car do much over 750rwhp on e85. That's 2.3 tvs territory with much less headaches.

Throw a crusher on and you 'll do 800+, find the crusher inlet.

I found someone that has a used hpp inlet for sale. Would that suffice? I can probably get it for sub $500.

Edited to add Pic.

Make sure it's a 3.4l inlet as the 2.9l is different. Also what throttlebody?

The tvs gt500 tb dwarf the accufab and the crusher TB is even bigger than the gt500.

Like stated above make sure it's for a 3.4 and see what throttle body its built for. The whipple crusher and vmp gt500 t/b's are what you need.
And yes that intake would be a winner for you!

According to my research this particular inlet is supposed to reuse the stock throttle body. I would be using a accufab TB. From what I could gather gains on this inlet was in the 50whp range. I'm thinking this may be a good compromise rather then spending $2k for a full crusher setup.

The full crusher setup sounds expensive for an inlet but its really not just an inlet, you're getting the inlet, a high dollar throttlebody, maf and cold air intake. The blower is only going to perform as good as the smallest bottleneck.

Yeah you can source JUST an inlet for $600, throttle body $600, intake tubing $300.

Side question, the GT500 throttle body will work with a 3.4 crusher inlet? I was looking at getting Whipples dedicated throttle body for the 3.4 crusher inlet.

The GT500 Throttlebody will bolt up and work on a crusher intake but its much smaller than the crusher TB. Malcolm was battling high idle issues on his crusher and tried a GT500 TB, it fit his car and cured his high idle issues. I believe he ran it until he got sick of the problems created by his 2.9 crusher and just went 2.3 TVS.

I just got to thinking you might want to read up on boost dump valves. Once you add cams that can become a major issue and require blower removal to try to fix. I know Malcolm has some good information on it. Might save you some major headaches if you follow his advice.

I did read up on that a bit. Before I bolt the super charger back on I will make sure to visit that. Thanks for the heads up.

Made a bit of progress. I got the timing chain cover off and stuff moved out of the way. I did notice that the back 2 spark plug wells on the driver's side closest to the firewall had some crud in them all others were shiny. All the plugs looked fine. Anything to be concerned about? Sorry pics are a bit blurry.

So next step is to get the cams in the correct position, make my marks on the chains, remove the chains, cams lifters ect. I will order the springs and do thoes first thing. I want to make sure I can get all the springs replaced before diving in and ordering the cams and hardware. I have summit racing 30 min from me so everything is super convenient. I'll be ordering comp cams beehive springs and retainers.... And this tool to do the springs.

Did Comp fix the spring breaking issue? I know it's been a couple years, but it seems most run PAC or Brian Tooley I think.

Yeah I have used comp beehive springs when I did cams / springs in my 2v back in the mid 2000's and the same thing was being said back then. Seems like someone is always reporting bad springs / bad batches.

I will definitely have to hit him up and feel him out for some advice before I purchase a throttle body. Was leaning towards that crusher throttle body
