you’ve got your prices wrong, mein. That’s not how they work out in the real world. Redeyes are selling for low low 60. The cheapest you will find a 500 is mid $70s.

the 500 might edge the Redeye when comparing stock cars, but once modded the Redeye will respond leagues better.

Also, the ZR1 will skull **** a 500 in the road course.

Once modded the redeye will respond leagues better, lol.

Oh it's very serious. That's why we've gotten this far into the discussion. lol

But you're not wrong about that, a beer would be good. Doesn't change some of the sad facts previously stated though.

look... the day the DCT 500 hits bottom 9s at 145mph+ with only a pulley / fuel and tire (like a Redeye), I will agree with you.

It's going to happen. They still have yet to throw bigs n littles on with a proper sidewall drag radial, and open up the TCM to actually launch the mofo. EvoPerformance has gone 9.8s at 144+ so far. Better engine/trans tuning, and lighter wheels/tires it'll be trapping 145+ and bottom 9s. (9.1-9.3 is my guess). All the difference in ET between between a pulley/tune/fuel RedEye vs. GT500 is the 60ft. Red Eyes are currently launching harder, but the GT500 is still brand new. It's only going to get better.

see... that’s where you are wrong. Because the 500 you are talking about only managed that 9.8 @ 144 with all of this, while the Redeye only pulley / duel / drags:

So were there timeslips...60' data anywhere??
Sure seems the redeye spun through a couple of gears to perform that terribly.
Our Redeye went 10.8 @ 128 bone stock on a radial.

hey Mike, what power did that Redeye make in the 9.2@145 pass?

Demon faster stock. Redeye faster mod for mod. ZL1 1LE faster than non CFTP 500.
Stock for stock, the Demon is the drag king, the GT500 CFTP is the road course king, and the base GT500 is the best bang for your buck all around car. I honestly don't see how anyone could argue with what was just said.

Edmunds? Come on OP, you are better than that.
So find me another source comparing the 3. That's what we have for now. And the fact that they used the same driver, same conditions, same day for the results seems pretty legit to me.

Car and Driver, Motor Trend, whatever your flavor of choice, the results are the same...

Edit: trap speed results. Obviously ETs are off in this vid considering no prep.

I can agree with that. Although, some would argue that the ZL1 1LE is the best bang for the buck (since its much cheaper than the 500 and faster at the road course).

840-850 rwhp.
It makes 880 on the full tilt tune but it broke (axle) on the line with that tune loaded. Another rental tomorrow to see how it does on the hot tune (weather will not be as good). (Pretty sure there will be a modded GT500 at our rental tomorrow as well. Too bad we cant use both lanes)
We have a set of 1300s and a 2.65 to throw on if we need to chase that 8 second pass :)

If/when this pig goes 8s with like 5 mods and cats, well, yeah...there wont be any GT500s laying waste to it.

nice. Thanks. The gt500 with all the mods (ported blower, pulley, full exhaust, suspension, etc) was at 945 RWHP at only managed 9.8 @ 144 vs your 9.2 @ 145.9

To use your previous question...

Why the 500 trapping less than a Redeye, even though the 500 makes 100 more RWHP, costs more, has a quicker shifting transmission and weighs 2-300+lbs LESS? Talk about an embarrassment.

FYI. Wide body Redeye is slower than standard body Redeye. CFTP 500 is faster than regular 500.

In the 1/4.... no, CFTP isn't. That one magazine that ran them, and got that result, just no. Ford even said the CFTP would be the slowest in the 1/4.

The CF wheels and stickier compound is a huge advantage
