I usually fire it up and let it idle a minute before I take off. Or however long it takes me to buckle up and set my music. I try not to let it idle too long since its loud and I'm usually taking off early in the morning. But I don't beat on it until it's warmed up.

Sounds long for my taste but I wait 30 sec - 1 min, when revs come down and settle for a bit under 1k, then easy throttle drive for 10 mins or so, get 0w40 oil temp up. Then blast off!

Till my seat belt gets buckled. I don’t beat on it for a few minutes. OP you said you don’t go over 5,500 rpms so I’m sure you’re good.

Maybe a minute or 2 of idling but I keep ther revs under 2k while driving until it's up to operating temp.

Depends if it’s cold.

Winter it may run 15 mins before I go back out to use it

Otherwise like others min or so.

It's not going tkast any longer if you let it idle a long time, winter or summer.

Just start it up, check for oil pressure, and drive it like a normal human being until it's up to temp, then you can rip it. You're only looking to prevent hotspots and uneven heatimg between components.

If it was really that important, the owners manual would state it and there'd prolly be all kinds of blown engines if it mattered that much.

It's your car and gas, do whatcha want. It's not hurting anything either way except wasting gas.

There one time I was in a rush . It was 45 degree out side . After crank up . I have to drive right away . The engine feel sluggish and not smooth . Until engine fully warm up .

Back in the carburetor days I think it was needed, but in these days of fuel injection I don't think you need to let it warm up. Just start it and drive off.

Now if you're going to race it or drive it like you stole it, then it should be at operating temperature.

I always start it and let it warm up for a few minutes, at least 5-10 minutes. I also give everything a check. Usually give it a quick wipe down and ready to roll.

If it is cold out, the car will sputter, backfire and pop in the exhaust until its warm. Cannot even back the car out of the garage. Car is on E85 full time.

That is not normal. How cold is the coolant temp when this happens?

As mentioned, idling is completely unnecessary. Just make sure your engine temp is in the normal range before hammering on the car.

This! When I had mine, in the summer it was pretty much start it and seconds later I was on my way. In colder weather, I would wait maybe 20-30 seconds.
And like you said, (try to) resist getting it on until the engine temp was in the normal range.

Rarely started below 32 deg, but anywhere near freezing I let her idle about 30-45 sec

I have hard crank ups because of the return system but I let it idle down after the initial surge and I'm out

Don't need a long idle warm up - most important, like others have said, is to let it get up to temp before getting on it. Mine doesn't see boost until warm. I give her a couple of minutes to warm up when I haven't driven it for a while (and because I take it out infrequently). Not part of your question, but I also give mine a couple minutes of cool down when possible.
