That video is in another GT-500 thread. That guy has himself one sweet GT-500. The exhaust sounds awesome. He's for sure excited about it. Hope he has a stellar owner experience.
He drove it straight down to my neck of the woods and ran it on the dyno (numbers not yet released) as well as the drag strip. He was able to go from the dealer to the strip with no mods and run a 10.66.
No where near the cost of a new 2020 GT500.
I just paid 27k for my car.
I put 10k in suspension + shop time.
Spent 5k for the Whipple 2.9 GEN 4.
Spent 7k on complete fuel system and other engine components and tuning to get the car ready for the Whipple plus install.
= 48k
On a stock block @ 17lbs of safe boost and have the potential of so much more if I want.
Went from 390hp crank
To
808hp crank or 701hp @ the wheel.
I knew all I was getting with the cobra. Really good bang for your buck and can keep up with just about anything.
The new stangs are always trying to catch up to me to get a look.
Yes, I don’t get the creature comforts of a new car, but I didn’t care. That wasn’t a concern, it was about pure raw performance. This is coming from someone who got out of a 2017 GT350.
Both are great cars. Just saying the cost is nowhere how much a new GT500 will be. Can’t wait to see what that car is truly capable is.

Just don’t sell your Mystichrome Terminator to get a 2020! You have an appreciating asset.Geez....It's like the other guy who ran 10.XX his second time at the drag strip. I need to get one. I want to get into the 10 sec club too.
What?I guess my 2019 hellcat stop going out
For those that don’t want to watch the video to find out... 705hp to the tires. This car is BEAST!
Here is a dyno run, very rich.

Fans have been used in the past to keep temps down to prevent timing from being pulled. This new car has a ton of cooling. I witnessed these cars running full-tilt-boogie at the track all day as drivers hot-swapped. Ford has eliminated heat soak with this car from what I saw.10/1 af ratio. It had 720whp in it if they threw some fans upfront to supply oxygen.
My opinion, but it’s obvious to the safety nets stepped in. Entire graph dipped when af dropped to 10.0

As for the rich air/fuel ratio... I’m sure that’s Ford’s cat protection strategies. My 2.9 Whipple GT500 with the Ford tune does the same thing. When hitting WOT, my fuel pumps go to 100% about 2/3rds the way up the RPM band and spray a bunch of fuel to cool the cats. Yes, it can be leaned-out, but Ford is interested in protecting the cats.
Ford has stated they will build about 5,000 of them. Each car gets a chassis #. Mine is #253. The chassis #s are the sequence they roll off the assembly line and are independent of the VIN.Is 2020 gt500 limited production where it have each car have a number like the cobra is . If not I be waiting few years for the depreciation kickin to buy .
