We are leasing a 2018 F-150 4X4 2.7 EB. It has 14000 miles and it is in the dealership for a CEL. They called me this morning and told me that upon scanning it, there were codes for the engine, transmission and several electrical codes, really, 14000 miles and it's like a basket case. I hope they get it straightened out before I turn it back in next June.

Just saying... my 2018 F150 was such a nightmare that I got rid of it the first chance I had. Good luck to you, but I have little faith in that truck.

It could just be an electrical issue. Especially with that many codes. That being said, before you dropped it off, was it running like ass or had a CEL just popped up?

Anywho, it's under warranty and it's a lease. They give you a loaner?

I've only owned Ford trucks for 20 years. A good friend, who is an exec for a parts manufacturer in Detroit, convinced me to jump ship to Dodge. He told me the Ford was having huge problems with the 10 speed transmission.

Omg 2 people had issues, don’t they sell like 700k+ per year? There’s gonna be some lemons

i agree those codes probably go back to a bad ground or ruB in the harness

lol go read the oil consumption threads on the F150 forums. Far far far above and beyond 2 people. More like thousands and thousands. Friends brand new F250 has been in the shop for a month too.

Lost all faith in new Fords.

yes, Ive seen you bitch in every thread possible. I am aware of the coyote tick, ecoboost cam phasers etc... The trucks we have at work and everyone I know personally doesn't have any issues.

I've yet to see a 10-speed in my shop for transmission issues.

Issues are far and few between. ALL vehicles have some sort of issue.

This made me lol.

Ford is having some unexpected transmission reliability issues, go to a brand with expected transmission reliability issues.

I thought the ZF transmissions, especially the 8 speed, are quite stout. Haven't too many issues for the Charger, Challenger, Ram etc...
The one in my SRT Jeep was flawless to over 100k before I sold it.
IIRC the only one that I've seen had issues is the 9 speed transverse engine.

My Cayenne Turbo has a ZF also, and the Porsche guys give it high marks for reliability.

I admittedly haven't kept up on them in recent years I just remember when the 8 speed was brand new it was fairly problematic and I have a buddy who had 3 transmissions put in his 17 Rebel before Dodge finally bought it back and gave him a new one.

The Hellcat has been bulletproof so far. But in all honesty I don't drive it very often.

27k miles on my 19 ram and no issues. I haven’t seen any trans related issues in the ram group either.

that said I’ve seen plenty of other issues. Go into any brand focused group and you’ll see plenty of complaints. I didn’t buy an F150 this go round but I wouldn’t be weary to do so in the future.
