How many miles are on your 95?

As for SN-95s. I have a 96 Mystic Cobra. There is quite the following of the Mystic cars and prices are somewhat strong for low-mile pristine cars. I agree though that Fox body prices are much stronger.
goose 17. Answer to miles on 95 2 top ,,,,23k. 100% original except for upper radiator hose and belt. I find all models of mustangs good, especially for those that want to custom the cars to run or look to suit individual tastes. I suppose because ford built lots of mustangs, which hold values down for the average car

It was a fun time owning those cars. There is one difference between the two 2-Tops shown below, all 1995 Cobra 2-Tops were optioned identical, all 499, but one option became available mid-1995, the "Theft Deterrent System".........The 2-Tops that have this mid-year option will have a "Theft" light (I believe that is what it was), that flashes in the instrument cluster when the car is locked, the cars without that option do not have the Theft light in the cluster (I believe it was in the bottom string of lights), it is a somewhat rare option on a 1995 Cobra and especially a 2-Top. In 1996 it became standard. If I remember correctly, I believe that Theft option was $145 on the original window sticker? One of my window stickers/cars had it, and one did not. Also, from memory I believe the Hardtop harness where the heated rear glassharness plugs together had something additional as it related to the Theft option.

Finding a Theft optioned 2-Top was the main reason I bought the second one, in addition to having both at a car show, one showing the soft top and one showing the Hardtop. <<That was cool too!

Yes, Ford built many Mustangs, but I like collecting 1-year only specialty Mustangs. They do better value-wise. I have 5 one year only Stangs and I could see getting a 95 two-top, but I’d want one with less miles.

Robert m.. my 2 top does have the theft flashing panel indicator. h ave a lot to learn thanks

^^^Thank is a cool option for a person who is in search of one of these cars. If my first one would have had it, I would have never bought a second one that did have it......but it was fun owning two at the same time.

What number of the 499 is yours?

It’s weird that the hard top verts haven’t taken off in popularity. I suspect it’s because they look so similar to the standard hardtop. Most just over look them.

I would suspect that many in the Ford/Mustang world don't even know that Ford/SVT offered this option on a Mustang Convert., and yes, with the Hardtop on it looks like a SN95 Coupe, Ford/SVT did an excellent job of making it look right and when the Hardtop is not with or on the car, it looks like a regular production Convert. except for a couple of small Hardtop attachment differences that only the Hardtop knowledgeable are familiar with.

It is so cool that Ford/SVT incorporated a headliner, a dome light and even a heated rear glass (backlight) into the Hardtop cars......I remember riding in my car(s) with the Hardtop on and thinking, "you would never know this is a Convert. with a removable Hardtop"........It seemed like a production 94/95 Coupe, and there were no extra (cheap quality) noises or squeaks. It was a very well made factory Ford option.

I agree, with the ht on while inside the fit and trim do not give away any hint that the top comes off. Takes 3 guys to carefully handle. It the latches are easy to use. Thanks

^^^^Yes, 1003. The 1994 Indy Pace Car guys were always lifting up their low "1000 built" number and then the "more built" 1003 for 1995........, but then when the 499 2-Tops enter the discussion..........it becomes a "Wait What??" moment. The 1995 2-Tops were well beyond decals, emblems and seat stitching.....and I forgot to mention the dark pocket wheels that later appeared in 1996.

But I do like the Red w/Saddle interior color combination on the 94 Indy's.

The rear center attachment point on the hardtop is definitely unique the way it swivels in place. The area in the center of the car body where the Hardtop attachment clamps in place is reinforced differently than the regular production (non-Hardtop) convert., but you can not see it unless you look for it.

Jeff - You mentioned the belt and upper hose. That serp. belt was unique for 1994 and 1995 also, it had "COBRA" ink stamped on it. I recently (last couple of years) sold my last "extra" 94/95 COBRA serp. belts for those cars. I had a couple of sets of the oem black spark plug wires with "Ford" and numbered 1-8 and the COBRA belts. <<They brought decent money on eBay when sold as a set, especially for being used (low mile take-offs).

Ok svt men. The 64000$ question. It’s fine to be honest and have an opinion. What is a reasonable price to pay for a 95 svt 2 top 23k miles original unmolested no dings or dents , no leaks with all top accessories today?

I looked in the garage and the only items I have left from my SN95 2-Top ownership days are the items below......

A New from Ford 1994/95 5.0 Belt Routing decal, you know, the decal that always gets the "hump" in the middle.....or gets damaged from coolant or other fluid...

View attachment 1611647

The Very Rare Hardtop Dolly instructions that were used by the owner to assemble the Hardtop, the Hardtop Dolly was shipped disassembled in the trunk, these are the assembly instructions that were usually thrown away after assy......

View attachment 1611648
View attachment 1611649

The exploded view of the Removable Hardtop from Ford Parts, most parts guys would have a heck of a time finding this view, but virtually nothing is available as for replacement parts......

View attachment 1611650

and then a common picture of the original Convert./Hardtop V6 Prototype from Ford.....

There is one of these in my area for sale as we speak. I think its real low miles as well, 50k-. Never seen one until now. Pretty unique if you ask me.

Dave: only 499 built one year only 1995. There are just a few around and of those most have been modified. Like any limited edition pristine ones exist today . Mecum Kissimmee FL usually has one.

of all the foxes I only really like the round body sn95's. it was a clean sheet design that ford got mostly right. the new edges are cool but to me its more like a sn95 with a wide body kit and those side gills are gay.

Hey guys 95 2 top owner checking in.

I bought mine from a member on this site and I may have reached on price a little bit when I bought it, but I really wanted it and I felt pretty comfortable with the guy I was buying it from plus the car was in excellent condition. The previous owner had all the OEM parts and many boxes of extra replacement parts he gave me that sweetened the deal. Also included with the car was the stand, window sticker as well as the VHS tape, the owners manual SVT certificates etc, and even an extra set of wheels drive shaft, belts and on and on . ....

When I did extensive research on valuing the car I would say a well documented one with lower miles could be 12-18k range. I have seen online some with over 100k miles and having the top etc 7-10k and even recently say a 200k+ mile one listed at 6500.

Robert M - Did you have any copy of the window stickers for either of your 95 hard tops? I just checked mine and did not see any theft light. I was curious to see what one looks like that has it.

I am loving this thread as it rare info on these cars. Not much activity in the last few years google wise.

I am of the opinion that one day the SN95's will be realized as the best looking fox platform cars and because they have been so neglected the values will get pretty nuts even more so than what we've seen with the square body foxes.
