DEARBORN, Mich., Nov. 14, 2019 – Ford’s all-new, all-electric SUV will don the iconic pony badge and the name Mustang Mach-E when reservations for the vehicle open after it is revealed this Sunday.

The all-electric Mustang Mach-E will make its debut Nov. 17 at an event in Los Angeles that will be streamed on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Autohome (China). Special guest, actor Idris Elba, will help introduce the latest addition to the Mustang family. Immediately following the broadcast – which ends at approximately 6:30 p.m. PST (9:30 p.m. EST) – reservations will open for the Mustang Mach-E at Ford.com.

Customers can reserve their spot in line for the Mustang Mach-E by making a $500 refundable reservation deposit.1 Timing will be critical, especially for a limited First Edition, details of which will be announced as part of the Nov. 17 event.

Customers in the U.S. and Europe who wish to reserve a vehicle can select their desired specification of the Mustang Mach-E, create a Ford account, select their preferred Ford dealer, and enter their credit/debit card details and address.

Customers who reserve a vehicle will be able to finalize their configuration next year when the ordering window opens.

Reservation timing for China will be announced at a later date.

Interesting... The wife told me when she is done with her current RS...she's thinking EV. Hopefully the addition of the Mustang name means it will be performance oriented, not just a pedestrian SUV.

And don't forget Fords $500 million investment in Rivian. Hopefully there was some technology sharing with that transaction.

That was Ford's reasoning behind backing Rivian. They want the technology for the F-150.

Thar's another reason not to buy it

It's funny. Price isn't typically a deterrent for most people anymore. If anything, it invites a larger audience. There are plenty of other EV cars out there that don't cost $100k like a Tesla, yet Tesla outsells them because it's a prestigious thing to say you own one.

This is a Mustang to Ford now! HAHA! Just when you Ford couldn't get any worse they do something like this! The top brass at Ford should do themselves a favor and resign now before the real embarrassment happens when they have to answer why they only sold a handful of this abortion. LOL

Tesla had people out the door for its Model 3 sedan before ANY details were launched let alone a target for its first build of the $30,000 base model. Ive seen die hard performance guys go with a Model 3 dual motor. People that were die hard V8 or turbo 4 cylinder drag racers. They got a ride in a Model S and next thing i know they are stating build dates for their dual motor model 3's.

So your target is 100% wrong and i assume you have never ridden in a Model S on Ludicrous mode. It changes you in ways you cant imagine. I was a die hard V8 guy for a long time, a friend changed the way i saw 4 cylinders with an Evo, now ive ridden in a Model S on stupid mode and im a convert.

Id wager Ford is going to sell a few hundred handfuls of these things after the Nov 17 event without issue let alone when they start releasing performance info.

While i hate the name its going to be a stupid fast SUV. I think it would have better been just Mach-E but they have to have a base brand name/icon to start. Mustang is a well know brand icon. So they chose it.

Hah! They could call it a “Shelb-E.”

What the...! Why in the hell would they slap the Mustang logo on an SUV. Not to mention adding "Mach" as well. For 54 years the Mustang has been one thing...a pony car. Now apparently Ford has decided to broaden the Mustang line. Every time I hear nonsense like this it makes me happy that I jumped ship. Do they plan on a Shelby version of this SUV? Maybe a Mustang Mach-E Shelby 500?!

Tesla has never made money as a company! NEVER!

You and I support Tesla, with our tax dollars. Its a complete joke that needs to stop. Fast golf carts are fun. Giving our tax dollars away so companies can make golf carts is dumb. The past presidents and administrations completely sold out the USA to China. 100%. This is why we are being pushed into battery vehicles. Do you know where the Lithium and Cobalt come from???? Have any of you seen an open pit mine? It completely rapes the earth. This "green" business is a money grab 100%. Dont fall into this environmental non sense because its complete garbage from the top down to make the rich richer and to give all our money to China.

You went full political mush on me and that is not what im talking about. Im talking about Ford selling tens of thousands of these things. You're talking something completely different.

Tesla might not make a ton of money but they sure as hell sold a ton of cars. Ford will do the same.

50k ain't a bad base price. Is that including any EV credits or that a thing of the past?

I'm for more brands making electric so the cost of the cars drop in price.

Curious how much the cost is for the higher range battery will be.

Haha, man your enthusiasm has got to be right up there with the people who built this atrocity. Can’t wait to see the sad faces when reality hits. This thing is D.O.A!

Before EV credits. They aren't as big now, but are still there.

I'm sure the tech has advanced but what the life on these batteries? 2yr...10yr? Put me in the wait and see boat.

They will have a 10 year warranty for the battery.
