DEARBORN, Mich., Nov. 14, 2019 – Ford’s all-new, all-electric SUV will don the iconic pony badge and the name Mustang Mach-E when reservations for the vehicle open after it is revealed this Sunday.

The all-electric Mustang Mach-E will make its debut Nov. 17 at an event in Los Angeles that will be streamed on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Autohome (China). Special guest, actor Idris Elba, will help introduce the latest addition to the Mustang family. Immediately following the broadcast – which ends at approximately 6:30 p.m. PST (9:30 p.m. EST) – reservations will open for the Mustang Mach-E at Ford.com.

Customers can reserve their spot in line for the Mustang Mach-E by making a $500 refundable reservation deposit.1 Timing will be critical, especially for a limited First Edition, details of which will be announced as part of the Nov. 17 event.

Customers in the U.S. and Europe who wish to reserve a vehicle can select their desired specification of the Mustang Mach-E, create a Ford account, select their preferred Ford dealer, and enter their credit/debit card details and address.

Customers who reserve a vehicle will be able to finalize their configuration next year when the ordering window opens.

Reservation timing for China will be announced at a later date.

worst car name since redeye..

however, im gonna reserve judgment until i see the specs. If it can accelerate with a tesla model 3 performance and hit 300 miles range they may have something. There are some very powerful electric SUVs coming out in the next 2 years. Unless this thing has stellar performance and features for the price it will quickly be forgotten.

I won't be holding my breath. Calling this a Mustang even if it were to outperform the 2020 GT500 is just wrong. Ford is just trying to capitalise on the recognition factor of the Mustang name. They may attract some to the brand but I think it will also drive others away.

I suspect, that after decades of of bleeding Ford blue, that I have made my last new Ford purchase. If this is what you get for being brand loyal for decades then it's time to move on. I am looking for a replacement for the wife's Escape and my F150, Dodge is looking better all the time.

This is an effort to cash in on the Mustang name, for people who’ve never owned one. It may achieve some success, but serves to attract new clients at the expense of pissing off the Mustang owners. What’s next, a Focus RS minivan?

Why would this piss off Mustang fans? lol

I'm done. I mean, I have waved the Ford banner my entire disposable income life. I can't support this bullshit any longer. I'm sorry, and it doesn't matter since I refuse to purchase any new vehicle on the market. However this is the biggest and hardest of all the slaps in the face over the last few decades.

brand loyalty is stupid. maybe start judging products based on their merits individually?

Two battery options. I think the small is around 250-285 and the big is around 400.

I had a good laugh looking at the Mach suv pics. No doubt it’ll be a performer..but Why give it the mustang name.

In all likelihood, I will be getting into a HC Charger in the next few years, no more mustangs for me.

Because Ford just took 50+ years of what a Mustang has been and pissed all over it with this thing. Why wouldn't Mustang fans be pissed about cheapening the brand they love?

This is beyond disgraceful. I was planning on buying some new fleet F350s for my business but Im not giving these guys any more money until they get their heads out off their asses.

Cheapening? The Mach E will be $50,000.

Get your panties out of a wad.

Interesting... The wife told me when she is done with her current RS...she's thinking EV. Hopefully the addition of the Mustang name means it will be performance oriented, not just a pedestrian SUV.

And don't forget Fords $500 million investment in Rivian. Hopefully there was some technology sharing with that transaction.
