Hey guys so I’m new to the mustang platform. Just bought the car few months ago. I have done tons of research and for now I plan on just staying NA. I currently have pypes or x pipe & flowmaster outlaws. New plugs & oil as for maintenance. Besides that car is stock. I plan on getting a pmas intake from lethal performance but they have power packs so I want to get a tune also... I have heard about the top tuners (Lund,PBD,LI & AED). For my car how it would be with, or x pipe, axle backs, pmas intake & a stock 6r80 auto trans... Who would you recommend & why?

Thanks in advance! Hope to get some good feedback!

Hey! First of all WELCOME TO SVTPERFORMANCE and we are glad to have you here. In regards to which would be the best suitable tuner its all pick of the draw. Lund Racing and PBD is typically the most popular choices to go with but any of the selections above will provide a top notch tune for a mild bolt on car like yours. These tuners have probably done that set up or similar set ups hundreds of times will great results. Lund Racing has been tuning our shop cars for many years now. A custom tune is usually my suggestion for the best bang for the buck modification and i would highly recommend it! We have a sale on PBD tuning ending TODAY and also a sale coming up towards the end of the month on Lund Racing. Feel free to message me with any questions what so ever or if you need help placing a order.

All of those you listed are great choices. Literally no bad choice.

For ease of doing business, probably Lund and PBD. I have no experience with Li Tuning but he knows his stuff too.

AED was the king of S197 cars a few years back and he has a personal s550 that is running in the 7s i believe. He absolutely knows his stuff.

My concern is who really knows how to tune the 6r80s well also!

I personally vote for AED. They had the best tunes for the 11-14 5.0 autos. Drivability is great and the performance on the track was great. I had a 2013 auto 5.0 that ran 12.1 with AED tune only. Everything else was stock.

Big Turbo, built motor and trans. Sai Li tuned the fastest 6r80 in the world but now its a PG tho. 7.60's I think with the 6R80.

His ability to tune with the ID 1700's was just a pipe dream for my local Mustang tuner who told me he couldn't get the 1700's to idle correctly for a street car and told meet get 1300's. I didn't, kept my 1700's. His tuning abilities are just leaps and bounds above the rest imo.

All reputable Mustang tuners can tune and make HP. The difference is being able to make lots of power safely. THAT is what separates him from the rest IMO.

PBD, Lund, AED are all reputable as well but u can only have (1) Tuner so I pick the best which is Si. ALL of them can make power under WOT. The main difference is the street ability of the tune along with lots of power safely. And that 6R80 is tricky to tune on the street but he has it all figured out.

He tuned your car? What mods you have?

I'll throw a vote in for Palm Beach Dyno. I'm astounded by this transmission calibration. Driveability is fantastic. My car has been 8's.

Honestly I dont know much about the Nguage. I thought it was essentially a data loger but again im not familiar with that. I would think u would still need the SCT.

I agree Ken has the transmission thing down as good as anyone. Shit, my buddy Otto built the 6r80 trans that Ken went 7's with in the "The Shop" car and it had no billet planetary or billet sprag and he said the way that dude Ken tunes that transmission is what makes it live.

I've been tuned by Ken@PBD, Lund and AED. If I were picking a tuner today it would be PBD, with Lund a very close 2nd.
