Sounds like another new corvette / camaro thread vs the terminator. All know how that went for the chevy owners.. And 10.7 are slow this day in age. 9s were the ticket years ago.
Now "fast" is running 4.90-5.20s 8.9-8.5s is your new street car.

What's missing is a "look at me" thread in the other sub-forums.
Fox Body
SN-95
New Edge
Focus
Fiesta
They don't get any love? Shouldn't they be scared too?

Lol

This thread would be like member badcobra starting a "public awareness warning" in the 2020 gt500 section: 2020 GT500 owners: mod heavily or avoid the badcobra!

I'm just upset that Ford didn't at least offer a manual. I get the whole DCT being awesome and performing flawlessly, but a majority of these cars are never going to see a track.
I watched Jay Leno's garage Saturday and watched him driving it and thought, wow that just looks so boring, regardless how much horse power it has. A sports car like that you want to be involved in all driving aspects. To get in, push a button to start and select drive doesn't sound like a sports car. Maybe it's just me but this is where Ford is loosing me.

The lack of analog options. Wish they would have offered a third pedal for those who didn't want to chase 60 foot, 1/4 mile, or lap times. Or for those who did, with a third pedal.

For those that insist on having a manual transmission, you can opt for the GT350 or GT350R. It’s the first time in decades that Ford has offered both cars at the same time. The GT500 is built for all-out performance. The DCT was integral in making that happen.

I belong to a local Terminator group. Quite of few of the members have extensively modified cars that I think would hold their own against the newest halo Mustang. They might have a hard time getting out of the hole, but once they hook-up, they should be able to reel one in with a power and weight advantage.

Curious to see how well the 9070 will hold up. Have my doubts.
Only time will tell, but the 22 cars that were at this event were heavily beat on all day long for a week straight. I asked one of the reps if they’ve had any issues and other than a couple press guys dropping some wheels off the track (no damage), there were zero issues. The cars took the constant abuse and never pulled timing, went into limp mode or any other problem.

I’m sure someone will mod theirs and find some design limits.

I think it might have been an easier pill to swallow if these were legitimately marketed as "track" cars, i.e. a Cobra Jet.
I mean I really do get where Ford's design department's head was at with this, but the GT350 isn't the Shelby, just like a Mach1 isn't a Cobra.

Not following what you are getting at...?

So they were data logging during the day, and sharing results? How else would you know if the cars were pulling timing?
I have a 750hp (crank) 2011 GT500. I have felt a big difference in that car when it gets warm and pulls timing. The 2020s I drove were full-tilt crazy the entire day. The cooling problems of prior gen cars has been solved from what I experienced.

Whats an "extensively" modded terminator? A blower swap and fuel system? 315s out back? E85?

Bolt ons aren't extensive at all. Thats been the beauty of the terminator for almost 2 decades. It doesn't take extensive or internal engine mods to make cars that cost 3X as much appear in the mirrors

My Terminators have all been stock, so I’m not the best person to answer this question. I don’t think spinning the Eaton faster will get you a “W.” A blower swap would help and an auto tranny might confirm it. Of course big sticky meats in the back would be necessary if you are racing out of the hole.

The 2020 gets into boost and stays there with lightning fast shifts all the way to insanity.

I wasn't talking about the eaton....To me any of the tvs/ts blower swaps are bolt ons for the terminator. So is a fuel system. A factory motor terminator, with a factory T56, spinning 22+ on corn will trap 135-140....that should be more than formidable for the '20 car to compete against out rolling in Mexico 70-140

But that's just one performance metric. The gt500 costs a ton and is 18 years evolved because it does a lot of other things very well.....highway rolls might be the spot where owners could get humble pie'd

I get the feeling this Goose guy doesn’t know much about building cars. Nothing wrong with that but like you said, a 03-04 cobra with a blower swap on e85 will easily be around 7-800 horsepower and anyone doing that isn’t running around on 245/17 tires.
