Damn... second guy had a gun. That could have been bad had they entered.

Severe restrain on the homeowner’s part to not pump them full of lead.

Yeah I dunno how he didn't squeeze a few off as soon as the door was kicked in. Hopefully none of us ever have to deal with that.

Good thing he didn't his neighbor's proximity was super close.. if he had missed that could've been shit luck on his part!
This is a good point. The guy that gave the CWP class I took was very adamant about pointing out that you're in the free and clear if your shooting is justified up until the point the bullet leaves the target it just went through. After that, you will be held responsible.

I would say staged. If you kick in a door like that you will shatter the jamb and it appears unharmed as if you just opened the door.

That's what I was thinking.

Watch the deadbolt move right before the door is kicked in.

No, it doesn’t. That’s the home owner’s shadow (over the deadbolt) that makes it appear so, as he enters the picture. Deadbolt never moved...

Fake. Staged and used a BB/AirSoft gun. At 30 seconds, you can even here the kid pull the trigger twice. Lame.

That is what I heard that led me to think it was air powered. Something definitely went off and it wasn't a an actual round. If that was a real scenario you'd be dumb to actually fire off a round from that thing and you better hope the sight of it fools the would-be robbers because once they realize what it is they may be coming back for more.

Exactly. I saw the striker plate fly off the door surround. So the door was definitely kicked open. So if it was real, that kid is lucky as hell bringing a BB gun to defend himself successfully in a home invasion.

I have seen too many home videos where the home owner defended themselves with a pistol or rifle and ended up in a gun fight with the bad guy(s). Brandishing a weapon doesn't mean they will automatically leave.

Not true. If you are justified in shooting someone engaged in a dangerous felony (burglary) and your bullet hits someone else, the person you're defending against is charged with their death. Scenario: You rob a bank at gun point and the security guard fires at you and hits an innocent patron. You are charged with their death. It is called the felony murder rule.

From the video description: "I did not pull the trigger at all I’m guessing those noises are the door hitting the wall or the camera switching modes."

Sounds an awful lot like a cheap ($80-$120) airsoft gun. Unless there is some conclusive evidence to support the legitimacy of the video, my default reaction is going to remain a skeptic.

EDIT: I do see the strike plates hitting the kick plate and coinciding with the noise. Still, I'm not sold.
