I have a convertible that is cat less with long tubes and a Mac Pro chamber h pipe, with stingers and it is mind numbing loud. It’s getting to the point where I can’t drive it for long periods of time. What suggestion do you have for quieting it down? I had an x pipe with cats and I didn’t like the rasp, and it was just as loud.

You can try Borla touring if you’re wanting to stay with Borla. Or a mild Magnaflow would work though I don’t like the sound they make, you might.

You selected just about the loudest combo possible, no cats and straight thru bullet mufflers. What did you think would happen? Lol.

Sell the stinger junk to some 23 year old and buy borlas touring line instead.

I have the ford FR500 exhaust with x pipe under the pumkin. I just bought the off road pipe. It's too loud on acceleration for a vert.

My Saleen is loud but was so surprised this is louder. I'm either going to run with one cat on each side or throw the original cat pipe back in that has 2 each side.
I was just looking for a little more rumble. Well I got it!. Careful what you ask for you just might get it.

I have a catted Bassani and the FR500 on my 04. It's near stock levels for idle and normal driving/cruising. When at WOT it has a nice tone to it, but not loud at all. I wanted this exact output in my vert so I can talk to my passengers and not smell like exhaust.

So the Bassani just has one high flow cat each side?. How close are the 02 sensors to the cat. Maybe I will just add a cat. .
I bet that cat knocked down the exhaust note. I can't hear the passenger talking except cruise or idle.

The cats are in the straight pipe right after the bend in the up pipe and before the X. I ran my set up with blown out cats for a bit and it was really loud. I keep cats on it now to tone it down. As well as no gas smell.

This may actually be a Magnaflow. It’s been ages since I put it on.

Bassani makes baffles of different diameters and lengths given the size of your exhaust. I think it's a great option for the price, easily reversible, and you're not re-doing an entire system. It quiets things down quite a bit and does a great job w/ drone at freeway speeds.

Hard to find on their website, but they're real easy to call and talk w someone over the phone to get you set up with the right size. I think I paid ~$85 shipped for both? Just needed to drill a hole at the 6 o'clock position on the tailpipes/tips for a set screw and some lock washers to locate the baffles.

I switched from stingers to tourings and it was the best decision I ever made. Currently have longtubes and o/r xpipe it sounds near stock at idle with a good growl at WOT. Cruising speeds are whisper quiet no drone

I found I like the way it sounds now that I learn to keep my foot out of the gas I'm regular cruising. It's not very loud and can drive around not being obnoxious.
No drone at highway speed pretty quiet and when I get into it it's fun and surprisingly loud at that time only.
I have my car set up with the Saleen tonneau cover and it is never driven with the top up.
