Hey,

So a couple of weeks ago I bought a 2001 Convertible Cobra. The car had a misfire and the convertible motor wouldn't close the convertible without some manual assistance. Drove the car today to pick up the new convertible motor and installed it. Since I installed the convertible motor I am unable to get the car to start. When I turn the key there is a clicking noise and then the lights/radio come on but thats it. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Yeah. My wife was already mad at me for buying it, but the guy was selling it for 2k so I couldn't not buy it, so if something goes wrong while I'm working on it, she will probably kill me.

A bad knock in the engine. Keep running it and you'll likely seize the engine. After that say goodbye to several thousand dollars to rebuild, or search for a good used 4V replacement.

My guess is that most of the spun rod bearings are due to running too low of an oil level. The dipsticks in these cars are not well marked. Keep the oil level on the upper half of the markings.

Agreed.

Have been running 7 quarts of mobile one with a k&n filter for 10+ years now. Knock on wood, 0 issues.
