Yes it is. I picked it up when they first became available. I'm just now able to work on it.

And since I had some extra hands I ended up dropping it in. I picked up a gasket and the needed tools after I posted here. It looks so good. View attachment 1597967

Nice! I didn't realize you picked up a 2.9 gen4......you really need to start your own project thread like 94slowbra did. All 2.9 gen4 builds deserve their own unique thread! Lol. Good luck with it.

Are you going to spin it hard and run good fuel? Those blowers have a ton of potential. With the gen4 rotors I'd bet that it out does the gen2 3.4s!

No kidding! I'm not even sure what pulley combo nets the lowest boost result.....it will be dicey on pump gas. And that's even with 93.....if 91 is going to be the fuel, the timing is going to have to be ULTRA low.

That gen4 needs the liquid gold desperately

I guess it depends on what you consider hard. I'm not planning on over 23psi. But yeah, it's going to get E85.

Nah. He covered most of it. Mine isn't as special since it's a non-crusher.

When I ordered this one the guy at Lethal said I'll probably be around 18-19psi with the 3.5" pulley. But I'm seeing reports of 20psi as it sits. It's going to get a 91 tune at first just so I can figure it out and get a handle on it. I've never tuned with E85 so I'll do that once the pump gas is nailed down. Plus I need the pump gas for the long trips. Like in November I'm going to be driving it to Vegas and I have no idea what the E85 situation is like between here and there.

The real question will be will I ever need the 4lb lower I have sitting on the shelf.

The belt I guessed on and ordered showed up today. So naturally I had to try it out and then it rolled a little from there. I had to see what it would look like together.

I picked up a 76.5" belt and it's a tad tight for me. It's right on the end of the mark on the tensioner. But the next size up is 77.2" and I think it might be on the loose side. Maybe I'll see if this one stretches at all. I can move the aux idler and a little bit more, but it'll be in the same area on the tensioner.

Just invest in a better tensioner like a thump unit. And keep the tension a little on the tight side.

I must be lucky or something. See so many problems on here or FB and I have a stock tensioner and a 2.9 upper pulley. Nothing special and zero slip. Boost increases to redline

I don't know how old the old tensioner was. It could've been the original with 115k on it. So I figured if I was replacing it I might as well upgrade a little.

I took mine and dropped it off with a paint shop to be repainted today......

It's been on my to do list for a long time. Had some chips in the hood and a few small dings I am having fixed before the full on paint. I am also having an extra set of front and rear bumper covers painted as well for back ups.

I did the interior over the winter. Now doing the outside.

I will post pics when she is done.

I may join the club of living dangerously with no front license plate when I get her back....... (WA requires it here) I just don't want the holes in her.....

UPDATE

Here are some pics!

Still a few days out from being done. ....

Feeling pretty good about it

Hmm looked kinda like a stock unit with those hash marks. My pulley combo isn't anything crazy, but I'm more likely to have belt slip running a 2.6 upper.

It looks similar but the arm is thicker. And the spring is heavier. How much I couldn't tell you. But it did take more effort to move it. I got the idea from jrgoffin. I did have to space it out, but a couple washers took care of that.

Come on now, all gen4s matter. With a 3.5 upper and 4lb lower I'm peaking at about 25lbs. I'm on the hunt for a 3.625 upper right now to drop it down a little. So far it's been great. The crusher was definitely a MFer to install. But hopefully the end result is worth it.
Once you tune for E you'll never want to go back to 91-93.
Good luck bro.
