2018 mustang clutch problems

I’ve done some searching on quite a few different forums and haven’t found anyone talking about the problem I’m experiencing so I figured I’d make a post to see if anyone has had the same issue. Today I got in my car and turn it on and when I went to drive off I noticed that my clutch felt about twice as heavy as usual then quickly found that along with the heavy clutch I couldn’t get my car into gear. From what I can tell the clutch is not disengaging. I checked my brake fluid and it’s surprisingly clean, it looks brand new and I’ve never popped the cap so I find it hard to believe something is clogging the line. There’s no fluids under the car and no cracks in the clutch line so I’m at a loss for what’s happening. I had just driven the car home from work 4 hours prior and there was no clutch chatter or slipping of any sort, it felt completely normal. I just have no idea what’s causing it without pulling the motor and trans apart which I don’t want to do. When I went to lunch today this problem happened and I turned my car off to check it out and then it didn’t have the problem again (like I said I drove it home feeling completely normal with no chatter or slip) until tonight when I went to leave and now the problem won’t go away. Thanks for any help

Slave in the trans is moving the pressure plate, not sure how much it’s supposed to move but it appears to be moving enough that it contacts the entire shiny portion of the pressure plate fingers where it has been worn from use so I’m not too sure. I’m kinda hesitant to pull the motor because it’s a lot of work if it’s not even the clutch disc that’s the problem just trying to weed out possibilities starting with the easiest ones

Warranty?

Ford won’t warranty a clutch since it’s a wearable part like brakes but I’m out of warranty anyway. I pulled the motor today though and found that a little piece from one of the fingers on the pressure plate had broken off and got wedged in the other fingers not allowing them to fully disengage. Onto the search for a decent clutch now

Yeah haha it sucks more because I spent my birthday pulling an engine. But I got it all sorted out. A tiny little piece of one of the pressure plate fingers broke off and got wedged behind the other fingers of the pressure plate not letting it disengage completely

Damn, 2018 out of warranty already? That sucks, but nice work on the fix!
