I bought a EGO string trimmer, and it rocks. I've had their blower and hedge trimmers for a few years, and have zero complaints. So much lighter, especially on the hedge trimmers. I've always run commercial Echo stuff, but this is unreal. I do 4 yards, and this string trimmer is better than the gas deal. No recharge needed during the usage, it just rocks through. The head has been suspect on some reviews, but we'll see. Battery shit has come so far it's unreal. I really never thought I'd type something like this as a gas junky. Bought mine with a battery and charger,
EGO POWER+ 15 in. 56-Volt Lithium ion Cordless String Trimmer w/Rapid Reload Head (Battery and Charger NOT included)-ST1500F - The Home Depot
Wasn't aware a man card had ever been issued to you. So, you're ok! Go enjoy some quiche.

I love the hell out of my electric trimmer.

I'll always have a big honking gas tractor but I don't care about my trimmer/yard tools.

I've gone electric for a lot of outdoor stuff.

No issues on battery life yet, and some of the batteries are at the 5 year range.

I traded my 24v Ryobi battery trimmer to my folks for their Kawasaki gas commercial trimmer. I miss how easy it was just to pick up that little Ryobi and go, but the smaller battery wouldn't get 1/4 of the way through our yard. We have 3-3.5 acres of heavily landscaped area, so there are several thousand feet of linear edging to handle (8 separate landscape beds, plus house/driveway). I bet the newer 40v would do it, but the smaller 24v struggled.

We use the 40v hedge trimmer, which is a friggin beast.

Now we just need someone to design a bump-feed that actually works.

I have the blower and the hedge trimmer and love them. Grabbing the blower and just using it is a lot nicer than running out 100' of extension cords and I don't use it enough to want to mess with a gas one. My 10 year old can grab the elec blower and go to work. My Echo trimmer is still running strong, but once it bites the dust I will likely go electric to replace it. I looked at the electric mowers, but with how much I have to cut and the fact that I let it get pretty tall sometimes I didn't want to mess with it.

Just this morning I was looking at battery powered pole saws. Better than lugging that gas one around and a lot quieter, especially while working around my deer stands. Hopefully it will last a few years, it is not like I will be using it every day.

I was always against them until I watched one of my dads neighbors use one in like 7" of overgrown mess. It didn't even bog, just chewed straight through it and left a surprisingly nice cut.

Our older cub constantly struggled with anything like that.

Could be a consideration here shortly.

I'm just praying my gas chainsaw starts in the morning so I don't have to use the electric one.
Meh, it needs oil and I need more oil for the gas mixture and the blade is dull so just ordered a new one. Ordered it all from Lowes. A break from yard work it is. No Complaints.
