Switching Samsung to Google

I think the last Note I had was a 4 I believe and loved it. Have had the Pixel 3XL paired with the Google Fi network for about 6 months and really like it. I think the best feature for me so far is the camera. Seems much better than my previous Notes and LG Vue(trash phone). The batter tends to last me a full day with heavy use as well.
Does it take any getting use to as far as software, daily usage?
Does it charge wirelessly?
The UI is pretty similar to the standard Android interface. If you aren't extremely phone tech savy it might take you a few days to adjust but it wasn't much of a change for me. Not having a headphone port was odd at first. Yep it's wireless charging is fine although I've noticed slower charging speeds with non google stands.
Some quick Googling says that Google will announce a new phone next month? I guess I should wait and see.
Its my understanding that any phone branded as being by Google runs pure android. Samsung makes a good phone but its bloatware city. I had a Google G2 years ago and to DATE its the best Android experience I had. Nearly cried when it stopped working.
I think you'll love the Pixel. Hell, Im probably going to end up with one as my next phone. Either that or it'll be a flip phone haha.

Another thing to consider are the unlocked phones directly from the manufacturer especially if you use ATT/Tmobile or anyone provider using GSM and removable sim cards. They get updates much sooner than phones from the wireless providers. I have a unlocked HTC 10 I bought after the Note 7 fiasco. Great phone, wish HTC still made the metal phones... very close to vanilla android. It's my small backup when I don't want to carry my Note9, but that's rare nowadays. I use the stylus a lot. That said I'm not planning on getting the 10.

I've been running a Pixel2XL for 2 years and my wife recently switched from a Pixel 2 to a Pixel 3XL. I'll be getting the Pixel 4XL when it comes out. Best phones I've ever used.
Our phones are already updated to Android 10.
Just getting back from 12 days abroad (Bulgaria and Greece) and used Google Fi the whole time for voice and data instead of buying a roaming packge from ATT. I used the Fi service in Denver for a week before we left. It was perfect. Going to use it for another few weeks, and test out service in the mountains, before I decide if I'm going to switch to Fi from ATT permanently.
I can swap from Fi to Att pretty easily on my Pixel 2XL. My wife's Pixel 3XL has true dual SIM functionality in Android 10. She can have both services active at the same time and assign each SIM to specific activities or apps.

Been samsung for years, s2, s7, now this.
While I know android is google, there's no way I would get an entirely google phone and phone plan. At least you can root the galaxies and get rid of most if not all the google shit

I switched to a Pixel 2XL when I could not board aircraft with the Note 7. While I did use the stylus and Samsung Note software, using the Pixel switched me over to OneNote full time, and I never went back to Samsung. I am with Verizon, but as others have stated, I bought my Pixels directly from Google. Eliminates all of the bloatware that Verizon loads on, keeps the phone clean. I have a Pixel 3XL now, and has been great. The camera takes great pictures, and sync's them with Google Photos similar to the Dropbox function.
Unless you are a heavy/dependent upon Samsung Note-Stylus user, you are going to enjoy the Pixel. Interface is practically the same, but I think the Pixel was more responsive. Also, I preferred the Samsung email client to GMail for my work related email when using the Samsung Notes. Once Outlook for Android worked out most of the bugs, I switched to Outlook for work based emails. My other office applications seem to work better on the Pixel as well (Word, Excel). I do not know if you use MS Office heavily, but the Pixel has been the best phone I have used with those applications.

Switched from a Note 4 a few years ago, I've had both the Pixel Xl and Pixel Xl 2.
Both of the phones performed well for me. The are easy to use, the best way to describe the phones are a cross between an Iphone and Android. The only down fall is Google's pain of a warranty to be honest. Good warranty just a pain to use.

I don't really care about the warranty, as I've never had to use one on a phone.
At this point, I'll wait for the Pixel 4XL comes out, and compare it to the Note 10+ and decide.
I was going to replace my GS9+ over the weekend with a GS10+. Reading this thread, I thought I'd revisit the Pixel. I can't find a single thing about the Pixel that's better than the GS10+. What am I missing?

You're comparing the latest Samsung, to the older Pixel. Wait until next month when the Pixel 4 is released.
Same with me. I've just have charging port issues with 2 phones. Not the end of the world. Only complaint so far over the past 3 years.
Many parts of the S pen are patented such as the six-axis motion sensor, including an accelerometer and gyroscope in the 10
LG has the "Stylo" line of phones, think they are on 5 now.
They have a basic stylus, no connection via bluetooth or buttons on it. Basically just a small step ahead of the plastic stylus on my 12 year old Windows 6.1 powered HTC Mogul, using a pressure sensitive screen.
The phone itself is low spec wise but it's less than a quarter of the base Note 10's price. If you never touched a faster phone they are decent, but much slower and much less storage/battery. But it has a stylus and it works.
I've had my Pixel to almost 2 years now. Best damn phone I've ever owned. I've owned HTC and Samsungs before. I bought mine from Verizon and there was no bloatware. Just stock Android and it's great. Battery life is not what it used to be but I can still get thru the day on a full charge.
