I have been using DirectTV Now as a streaming service for about a year now and it is ok. only 20hrs DVR and no locals. Was wondering if anyone has YoutubeTV for streaming and how they like it.

If you want to watch F1 and Bob's burgers it's second to none.

That's all I use it for mostly. I actually really like it.

I'm not a big sports guy, but they have a ton of games going all the time.

I just cast it to a chromecast (which I will say the quality of those devices isn't very good).

Looks really good. Has great locals. Can’t get on FireTV yet. Well you can just not officially. I use Hulu Live as it comparable and has Local channels.

Carp glad you said that. 90% of my TVs I use a FireTV to stream.

I've had YouTube TV for over a year and love it. It sucks they went up in price from $39 to $50 in that time, but they've added more channels so I can't complain. I get all my local channels and 95% of channels I care about. I use it on a hardwired LG tv with the app and a Roku streaming stick, and it works flawlessly on both. I guess if had one complaint, I wish accessing DVR content was a little easier.

I have the Hulu also .
And am pretty happy with it for the amount of tv i watch
I've been using Hulu Live for about 6 months and like it. They just updated their Channel Guide and it's SO much better than it was. The Guide was my major complaint with Hulu before they updated it. Before, you couldn't go forward more than 2 days. Now I think it's 2 weeks.

I looked at YouTube TV briefly but haven't pulled the trigger on it. I don't honestly see my need for it. Hulu and Amazon Prime Video is all I've needed.

They all are missing something. Hulu is missing AMC. Guess whose wife has to watch the Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead. AAARGH! I picked up PHILO as it is cheap, fills in the gaps (looking at you AMC) and has a few neat channels.

YOUTUBETV is supposed to be on FireTV soon. As I said before, it really looks like a strong channel lineup. When available, I may switch but Hulu does have really good original programming.

And when is this happening? It is driving me NUTS having to use an old, basic Roku instead of my Firestick 4K. My understanding is that you should be able to download the official Youtube TV app "sometime this year" but I don't know when!

I don't like that they raised the price 25%. Really not a fan of that.

Again, when is "soon." I'm getting cranky over here! LOL

Youtube TV is the only service that gives me AMC (for the Walking Dead), my locals, and Big Ten Network (Buckeye living in Nevada) so I am on board with it, but it still drives me crazy that you can't get it on FireStick yet. I've tried but the tutorials I have found on YouTube and Google don't work the way they say they do. Anyone have a great tutorial that is proven to work CURRENTLY (not from a year ago)?

If you are talking about ‘jailbreaking’ the Firestick, I believe Troypoint.com has what you are looking for. Also, the Nvidia Shield while an older product, is superior to what is out there and can stream YouTubeTV.

A caveat though, a new version of Nvidia Shield is ‘supposedly’ to be released.

Dont forget that you can get the local channels in BEAUTIFUL uncompressed HD, with an antenna. Picture is truly incredible.

Cutting the cord then turning around and spending $50 on a service defeats the purpose of cutting the cord in the first place.

Yep I bought a HD antenna off Amazon and love it. The problem is where we are at the channels are hit or miss.

No the purpose of cutting a cord is to take the cable company's $250-$350 a month cable bill and knock it down to $45-$50. A savings of $200 to $300 a month.

If the locals are important, perhaps step things up with a better antenna, maybe even consider a rotor. Getting the antenna outside makes a huge difference. This might help, if you want to go this route.

Ya my dad has an 80ft antenna in his yard on a hill to get locals. I think the DVR ends up being more important than the local channels. I watch one show that I DVR and it's on cable. The wife works from home so she likes to DVR a lot of shows and then watch them while she works.

PlaystationVue has both AMC and the BTN in their core package if you wanted to look at that. I've never used YouTubeTV so I don't know how it compares.

Here there is only one option for cable tv. By the time you get the few channels you want that are hidden in various package levels and the charges for ‘renting’ the hd cable boxes, the cost of cable was over $130. Now we get the same channels we watched all the time for $44.95. Well, except you cannot get the Weather Channel on any streaming service except one. Anyway, canceling cable and streaming was the best thing we ever did regarding watching TV.
