can it show wideband or boost info? is there a way to utilize things the stock ECU doesn't handle with the head unit?

That's going to be more about the apps than the head unit. It can do whatever a droid or iPhone can (since it can interact with your iPhone)

you would need something like PLX's obd2 product where you can use their wideband and other sensor modules daisy chained to the obd2 adapter. unfortunately, I have yet to find any other solutions like this.

I have dual aeroforce in the cobra with torque running on my headunit. The dual aeroforce handles the external non obd2 sensors(wideband, oil temp, oil pressure) and the torque app has various dash screens with alerts set up.

In my 04 GT, I do not yet have aeroforce gauges as i have regular boost and wideband gauges. The torque app handles everything else that can be read by the OBD2.

Your aero force still operate even with something else hooked to the OBD? Usually doesn't allow anything else to work.

This is correct, if the app can support it you would need a device that can support streaming that data as well. if you planned to use an adapter just off the factor OBD2 connector then you would only be able to view what the stock ECU does.

What OBD2 adapters are you using? and how is the refresh rate for some of the faster PIDs?

I'm using this in both cars:
I had the older(non enhanced) version in my Ranger and it was fine for that use. However, in the Cobra and GT, it was too slow and did not read all the PID's. In torque the PID would show up green as if it was a valid parameter but it would just read 0. for example, the 02 sensors, fuel pressure, and fuel trims wouldn't read with the older OBD2 adapter. the newer one works just fine.

I was researching the Xtrons unit when a lot of info started popping up for a Joying unit. Is the Xtron considered a higher end to the Joying? Have you had any experience with the Joying?

I haven't had any experience with joying myself. I have heard good thing about both so I'm sure you can't go wrong with either of them.

I have the Joying unit in both my cobra and GT. worth every penny even though they're fairly cheap. You will need to modify(grind) the double din bracket adapter and trim a little bit of the lower opening of the dash to fit it. Takes 5 min with a dremel.

This is very nice. I am looking for a clean way to run Shadow Dash. Was originally looking to add a tablet but this may be better.
