Yea I’ll have to keep an eye out for low hour trades as well. If I do spring for a TC2 it’ll depend on what I get for the 2520. I’m going to list it for 14k and it’s fairly low hours at only 433 and it’s garage kept so hopefully I can walk away with like 13k. Much less then that I may as well just keep it.

Last year I found a 2016MY TC2 for $5100 locally and wish I had jumped on it, had a hair over 300 hours which is nothing for them. They haven't really changed much in the past couple afaik, Tiger Eye and all is the same I believe. Besides the stronger PTO, I think it had the Parker 12cc pumps which I want to say are the same size as the ZT3400(also 12cc I think) but more commercial geared as they are a unitized unit instead of separate pump and motor. Don't quote me on that though, check with the dealer. Frame was pretty much the same, deck as well though it may have had an additional gusset on the top plate where the spindles are. One big thing for commercial guys, maybe less so for you, is the front casters are a bolt in job versus welded. For those that beat the hell out of their rigs on rough terrain, being able to field replace them is nice from what I was told.

Transmission oil. Any issues running a synthetic 20w50 vs conventional. Left side is a touch low after using it. It’s the 2800’s.

Nope, we switched as well and no issues. Many guys runs 15-50 as well with no issues, however you being in Florida makes the 20 just fine.

Should have added what we've run. Started off with the M1, but for the past 2 years run Valvoline VR-1. Didn't notice any difference really but they do seem to run a touch cooler, maybe because the additional zinc?

I just sold my 15 year JD that still ran and worked great. These are so much faster and easy to use, especially around trees and stuff.

In an effort to keep up with the new zero turns, I "stanced" the JD... it even added 1.5 whp!

Had to top off the transmission Reservoirs. I like it has separate tanks for each one. They said it may happen being new. Only a few ounces. Gave me the oil. Just 20w50.

Yep, nice if one takes a dump you don't get cross contamination and grenade the other.

Dad life lol

Man, don't you know it. My 4 year old can handle the Kubota like a seasoned vet. If he wasn't still so small I'd let him cut the pasture by himself, but for now I'm content sitting there with him in my lap and my only duty is to drink beer while he cuts and cut the throttle if it gets away from him. I rented a mini ex, 42 horse with enclosed cabin and thumb, and he could actually manipulate the joysticks with no issues and knew what they did. He plays some simulation game on my phone for heavy equipment that uses actual controls and boy do kids really pick up on that stuff! He's a natural.

I really wish I had more property because I’d definitely keep the 2520 for tractor rides lol

Lesson learned on a ZT, they're back heavy. This weights 632 dry, has 10" wide rears and tore the living shit outta my neighbors backyard. Yes, it's been wet as hell, but damn. Almost got that shit stuck.

Update. This thing really cuts some damn grass. A few areas where about 10" long after weeks of rain, and this thing blows right through it. Mind you, dry grass, not wet. Highly impressed.

Update today. Pulled the factory blades and put the mulch blades on with the block off. Dropped the deck 3/4", this bitch will cut some damn grass. No trails or lines. Yes it was dry and cut yesterday, otherwise, no bueno. Highly impressed so far.

For what you’re doing, it’s about perfect.

We're moving to our new place in a few weeks so I'm finalizing the ZT choice. We ended up getting a place with a bit more land (2.6 acres) and a lot more grass than what I was originally researching for.

Instead of the Cub Cadet ZT2 I decided to go a little more rugged, now I'm looking at a Spartan RZ HD 54" with the 25hp B&S Commercial. Anybody have first-hand experience with this brand? From what I've seen so far they look really well made and reliable, but being relatively new (late 2015) I was hoping somebody here had experience with them, good or bad.

Never heard of them. I have 3 choices if larger, X mark, hustler or skag. Xmarks being #1. JMO with what I’ve seen from friends who do it for a living.
