You don’t like the flares? Ever since the wide body came out, I don’t think I’d be content with a regular bodied Hellcat.

So I’ve been toying with the idea of getting rid of my current hellcat Challenger for a Redeye.

With the discounts available and with how much I’ve enjoyed the “lowly” 700hp version I can’t imagine not enjoying the 800hp version that much more.

The widebody does look good in person but I’m not sure if it’s worth the extra $$. I can pick up a standard body Redeye absolutely loaded in the high 60’s right now and I’m having trouble finding a widebody much below 80...

I hear you.

The wide body is a 7k option. So in theory, if you can find a regular body red eye in the high 60s then you should be able to find a wide body red eye in the mid to low 70s.

Demand and supply might be affecting that, though.

Easy to fit 305/squared. I belive 315's fit fine in the rear as well with some trimming.

lol, no. not a chance. disappointing its not lighter, but its still a beautiful unique car that has aggressive styling, 4 seats, powertrain i desire, and mod-to-hell and back potential

How do you know about mod to hell and back potential and where is the spreadsheet?!?!

Ya, that's it. Seriously?

...I don't typically have a hard time comprehending what someone means, but I have no idea what you're trying to say.

You said that this is one more reason to love your 2013 GT500... awesome. Your car weighs less. But, even with your mods, it's not as fast...as quick...as comfortable...as trackable...as streetable... as the incoming 2020 GT500.

A little too much salt on your meat, it appears.

not at all. i can take factual criticism just fine. I will drag, autocross and in general drive the sh1t outta my car like every one before and be happy with my choice.

would i like it to weigh 3800lbs sure but the car will have waaay more street miles than track miles. Ive said since the only numbers out were the price, that buying this car as a primary track car is stupid. possible, sure just not smartest IMO.

I've modded enough mustangs and camaros enough times to be done with that game and just enjoy it as it is.

well, except for pulley, tune, longtubes... :)

I can tell you this, I still own my '14 GT500 and not selling anytime soon as I feel it was just one of those cars that made a statement in the american performance car market. But 13COBRA is correct, I also owned a '16 GT350 and let me tell you the driving experience was that much superior over my '14 in many ways, but especially the suspension. I got rid of it because I felt it just needed more power for what I mainly would use it for, yea yea I almost threw a Whipple on it but knowing the new GT500 was coming sooner than later, I decided to trade the car in and not throw $15k+ or more into another car like I did my '14 that you will never get back. ($62Kish for base GT350 + $15k in power adder/supporting mods=$75kish invested)

Here we are now and the GT500 is here with great factory rated HP, and will most likely drive and handle way better than my GT350 including the fact it weighs out more. There is no denying she is a bit heavy than most would like to see, but in reality it was never going to weigh under 4k lbs unless many other lighter more expensive components were addressed, ultimately driving cost higher.

Having road raced S-197 cars for years, I may be a bit biased here, but I'd say it even started as soon as the S-197 chassis came out. The 2011 +, especially 2013 + mustangs were incredibly capable road racing cars, and then take the Boss 302 on top of that. The pre 2020 GT500 was never meant to go around a corner, and anyone who thinks it was is kidding themselves, but as a whole that is a very competent chassis.

And not to just take our word for it, on any given track weekend, the top 3 cars, hands down are Miatas, porches and mustangs (of all years).

Sure I get that, and again, I didn't say you couldn't track with them or that they were incapable. My statement was made as a direct comparison from then, to now and how it seems that Ford is more focused on the Mustang having the ability to go around a track and corner then previously for "most" of the Mustang line up. IRS has been around forever, yet aside from the 03/04, Ford put SRAs in everything until the S550 chassis. Just seems like aside from certain models/editions, that a lot of Ford marketing and whatnot appealed to the straight-line performance. Of course, you can certainly track with an SRA, but again, I feel like, since the move to the S550 chassis, things are geared much more specifically to be able to handle/corner/track better than previously. Maybe that's just a side effect of advancing technology? I dunno lol.

Mustang II was the finest example of a road race ready Mustang ever in the history of mankind. It's Pinto-based underpinnings were waay ahead of it's time as was the oft called underpowered engines of the era. With a fuel system designed to scorch the earth, it took no prisoners. Porno inspired interior hues and 4 lug wheels were the envy of the industry. Collectors have bought up whatever remains of them and they are a lock to sell for six figures at upcoming major auctions. When I think sleek, sexy, with a brute of an engine, I think Mustang II.

Competing with souped up Gremlins, Pacers, and Vegas of the era was epic with the single exhaust pony car dominating. No other car looked as good while in a long line for fuel during the gas crunch. It was a sad day when the last one rolled off the assembly line back in 1978.

Hey! The Mustang II front suspension was pretty awesome at the time.

history of parts being mod friendly and responsive, handbuilt larger displacement low compression motor paired with one of the largest PD blowers on the market, highest performance streetable transmission. beefed up drivetrain from factory. oh i dunno..

oh, updated chart with HP and weight bias, and even weight added and worse coefficients just for you :)

That’s exactly it. Plenty of non widebody ones sitting, collecting dust.

“History of”... sounds legit.

That chart is on point!
