Sorry about your old car. looks like he lost control at a high rate of speed in a residential neighborhood. Luckily no innocent bystanders were hurt.

I have a friend who lost a family member about 10 years ago to some jackass who purchased a mid life crisis GT500, lost control, hopped a curb in a spin and hit her while she was out jogging.

Whoa, glad your friend is ok. As has been stated, by looking at those pictures it's amazing anyone came out of that wreck alive.

Good Lord. A 150MPH car and a 50MPH mind. I remember all those years ago when I was learning to drive my dad telling me that giving a young man a car was worst than giving him a loaded shotgun. RIP dad, truer words were never spoken, and there is proof.

He not only pissed away 30K but now has I'm sure a massive recovery and hospitals bills plus ticket(s) and legal fees to deal with.

Here's hoping he recovers but I'm sure this will remain with him the rest of his life.

That'll buff right out! On a serious note, glad your friend walked away from that, the man above was definitely looking out for him on that day.

WOW

Powerful Photos you shared.

Glad he is alive.

Just wow. My dad told me as a kid .... "Cars can be replaced.... Humans Can't"
One day when I was a 13 year old kid my dad and I were home and got a telephone call from the fire Dept informing my dad that my 16 year brother had just crashed my dads new car into a telephone pole. I thought to myself "wow dad is going to kill my brother for this one", however when we finally met up with my brother and saw the car in the same condition like your friends cobra (well formerly yours)... Those are the words my dad said to my brother. "Cars can be replaced. You can't be" That moment has stuck with me my whole life. Powerful words.

If I know my friends will take this cars and beat the hell out off it or I know he a wreck less driver . I usually don’t sell to him or to any kids . If I’m taken care my cars and baby it , I only sell to the person that will do the same . I really don’t care how much moneys was , if I know this kids won’t take care my cars , I wouldn’t sell it , that just me .

LOL......stop, you're killin' me!

What? You're serious? And don't care how much money. LOL again.

So we shouldn't blame the driver. It's the fault of whoever sold him the car.

Call me old fashioned but I can't buy into that at all. Whatever happened to accepting personal responsibility for one's own actions? OP is all good in my opinion.

Im not saying op is wrong . Depend on a situation .

Myself and this is all me . If some kid fresh out off Dmv with his first driver licence and his rich dad want buy my 600+ whp paying 10k over what I’m asking , I woulnt sell it , I feel wrong knowing this ain’t the right car for him , and it could hurt him , I can’t live with myself on that . the moneys is good , but moneys ain’t everything for me.

This just me bro . Moneys ain’t everything for me, good health is everything for me.

To this post . I’m glad his friend not serious hurt in this , cause it look like pretty bad , god is with him 1000% that day .

After thinking about this yesterday it occurred to me that there's a strong indication based not only on the photos, but the additional info that alcohol could have been a contributing factor in this incident.

OP, do you have any further insight into this.

I can sympathize with your feelings on this 100%. Car guys are sometimes funny about those things. If the seller has a bad feeling about selling his car to someone he feels has more money than brains that would be the best judgement call for all involved. If the vehicle is as nice as this one was he'd have no problem selling it to someone he deemed to be more responsible.

Case in point, my oldest son is 46 and he lusts for my 86 GT, but I've told my wife I have serious reservations of him getting that car after I'm gone. When he drinks, especially shots of Patron, he can't control himself. She couldn't understand why I won't drink with him especially in public, until she found out this past weekend when him and her were kicked out of a bar because my son started to pick a fight with a total stranger and she got between them to stop it. When she got home I heard all about it and she was dismayed to say the least. I asked her if he was drinking shots of Patron and she said yes it all started after that. I said well Bonnie, now you know why I refuse to drink with him and don't want him to get his hands on that 86.

I felt good that he would take care of the car and it was a dream car for him. But sometimes people make bad decisions that we cannot control. If I sold it to someone I did not know same thing could have happened and I would not have known so dont give me some bull about knowing or not you never know what can happen or what people will do.
