So my 03 cobra started developing a vibration while accelerating. It feels like a u joint because i feel the vibration in my seat. But i jacked up the car and noticed that one of my inner halfshaft boots slung all its grease out. How do i differentiate a u-joint vibration from a halfshaft vibration?

If all the grease is gone I'd replace that first. Replacing u joints on the driveshaft is fairly easy and not that expensive. I replaced mine in my 90 coupe not long ago.

Obviously replace the halfshaft, but I would think a vibration while accelerating would be something along the lines of a pinion angle issue, possibly from worn IRS or differential bushings or along those lines. A bad u joint would have obvious play in the joint. Lift the car and put the trans in gear with the parking brake on, you can then wiggle the front and rear u joint/driveshaft and check for any play. I would put money on worn diff bushings personally.
