I was working on the gt today and noticed two small patches of corrosion on the driver side edge. When I had my 12 gt500 ford replaced the hood as the front edges were covered in this. Before we traded the 13 explorer sport I noticed it’s hood was doing the same bubbling. We now have an 18 explorer but more concerning an 18 f150. My concern is the mustang has 45k miles, will ford stand behind this issue and in a few years is my f150 going to look like it suffers from acne?

I hope they take care of you. I'm not sure what the issue is but I seems like ford is using cheap and/or thin paint. The front of my ST is all kinds of peppered with chips from rocks whereas my wife's civic looks fine. My ST has 60k miles her civic 110k miles and we do the same trip to the same work although she spends drives more running our son to daycare

Ummm, where's the green car? I buy a lot of ford's they better or they'll lose business.
Yeah, I hope they do. They should!!

I traded it in for the 2019 RS3 you see in my sig.
401a car, A10, pretty much fully loaded base car and almost every Roush option as well. I LOVE IT! Triple black.
At first, I was like,........what did I do??!
Now there's no looking back. lol :D

LOL
I would of, if I had your number.
Were you seriously interested in the car? I thought you weren't because it was a 6 speed manual?

It was definitely a looker. I would've been interested. I was in the market for a GT350 as I'm missing the fun of shifting. But dependent on what becomes of this paint issue I may be out.

I had paint issues on my ‘13 GT500 less than a week after ownership.

I brought it up and they said, “Well, in the area that it’s in, it would be tough to blend so they may have to do a large repaint. It could take awhile and it may never look as good as it did from the factory.”

Fun.... dicks...

I have seen it a lot on Explorers and understood it to be an issue from the Canadian factories but I dont know the total validity of that. Won't be an issue on the F150 because Aluminum as mentioned above..

Explorers and f150’s are having issues with corrosion as well. The edges of hoods and around key hole openings. I hope they do the right thing by you.

My 15 had the same issues, a year in and I had bubbling at the front of the hood by the passenger headlight and at the rear of the hood by the passanger wiper arm. I mentioned it to ford when they were busy telling me my 12,300 mile clutch wouldn't be covered under warranty and they said that paint is not covered unless rust under it eats a hole in the body.
