I hadn't seen this posted here, but predictably the Cummins power Nissan Titan XD was a flop. The engine option is getting dropped from the Titan lineup. Who would have guessed that a truck with the price and fuel economy of a 3/4 ton and the capability of a 1/2 ton wouldn't sell all that well???

There were 2 or 3 for sale at my local Nissan dealer; I liked the fact it had a Cummins but that’s pretty much it. Everything else a gas fueled Titan would do the job too.

I went to look at one when shopping for a truck and nearly fell over at the sticker price of a Titan XD. It was more than $60,000 for a near base model.

I went with the Colorado at almost half of what an optioned Titan XD came to. What a pile of garbage.

I believe it was the most pointless truck on the market. A 3/4 ton could out haul it and out tow it. It didn't get good mpg's. It had about the same capability as 3.5 eb. And it was priced at damn near Lariat PSD prices. What was the point? What niche did it fill?

Nissan would have been smarter to buy 3/4 ton frames from one of the big 3 and hang their sheet metal on it.

I'm friends with a cummins engineer, he told me before this truck went on sale that the engine was "nothing special". Which is basically his way of saying it sucks.

It’s a shame they seem ho hum because I personally think they are one of the best looking trucks on the market currently. I’ve had friends who owned them and traded them quickly due to problems so I ultimately didn’t bother shopping them and went with Ram

Import? That truck it made in Mississippi and the engine is made in Indiana? All the Big 3 HD trucks are more import than the Nissan.

All true obviously. I was referring only to the fact it’s a Nissan and not from one of the Big 3.

I have a non diesel titan and the quality is pretty shit.

Truck rides great and is very comfortable but I'll never buy another one.
