What do you think this fox is worth?

Thinking about selling my 89 5.0, 5 speed vert with 12,000 original miles on it. It’s in super clean all original condition. Just wondered what you think I can get for it. Any suggestions are appreciated. Here is a pic of it.

Auto, or manual? You may also want to elaborate if you have good support documentation, and if it is 1000000000% stock, or has any mods (you say "original", but any mods should be noted, if there are any).

It is a manual and it is all stock, and I have documentation on it. No mods whatsoever. It looks like it has been in a time capsule.

Looks super nice but i think the 12-15k range depending on your area.

Are you sure the headlights weren't replaced?
Those don't look like stock 30 year old plastic, even if they were in a controlled environment.

Yes I am sure they are the originals. You would have to see this car in person to believe it but it was owned by an elderly lady that only drove it on the weekends occasionally. It was covered and garaged the whole time she owned it. I will correct a few things. The tires were replaced, the battery was replaced and one of the back windows is not working. Pretty typical of these cars windows. I do have the replacement motor, but have not installed it yet. Other than those three things the car is in original condition. The seats are perfect, the top is perfect as well as all of he rest of the interior. I have owned it for the last couple of years. I am the third owner. First owner put approximately 7k miles on it, second (lady I bought it form) put 4K and we have put 1k on it. I have a folder with all the maintenance done on it as well as the original window sticker. Anyway, I appreciate any comments on it. I am thinking of selling it and just don’t really know what the market will hold for it.

I would say somewhere in the $19-25k range. It looks like a very nice car.

Thanks, it really is a nice car. It runs great, looks great and is fun to drive. its not like my Shelby of course by any means but still a fun ride!

Coming from a fox owner and seeing how the market has been lately I'm thinking 10-15. The reason being it's a vert the market isn't in high demand for those even as clean as yours.

I agree. At the moment it seems the most desired ones are the coupes.

But the right buyer might be looking for a low mileage vert.

Agree with the others that the coupes and even hatches are more in demand, but as the saying goes, there's a buyer for every seat.

I also think region plays a huge roll. A lot of these cars have rusted out up in the rust belt and have been turned into guardrails by this point, but the south seems to have a healthier level of inventory, and especially California where it seems fox bodies are everywhere.

I think the GT verts are underappreciated and will gain value in 10 years or so.

We can throw numbers out all day long but it really doesn't matter as it all depends on what someone is willing to pay. If you are in no rush to sell it, start high and lop off $1K here and there until interest picks up and then hold and see if anyone bites.

I think $15K would sell, but $20k might be a tad bit high. If the color combo was a little different it might fetch a bit more money. For example, triple black, or red with black interior/top.

In the northeast, so fox bodies tend to be a little "overpriced" due to lack of inventory.

For example, here's a similar '89 GT convert that's been for sale for a while. 25K miles and $13K

My thoughts on the potential high value is really amplified due to the assessment that the car is COMPLETELY original (original correct dated coded tires would even be important). There is a substantial premium to "blue chip" collector, but it will also have to stand up to strong scrutiny to get the $ from the "right person".My range may also be a bit strong, with (as mentioned) the color combos.

The CL add above doesn't have the original radio, top, tires, and shows engine surface rust (maybe more?). Big negatives for premium dollars.

I also agree that notches, hatches, and special editions (summer, 7-up etc) are the premium "normal" foxes (non cobra, McLaren, Saleen etc).

Nice car. There is a buyer for every fox. Based on what I've seen from the market lately, I think your car is right around the 15K range. A similar car on BaT with 20K miles recently sold for 14K. If it were a hatch, mid 20K range. Coupe, close to 30K. People were literally giving these cars away in the early 2000s, wished I had a big garage and bought a few.
