Okay Everyone,

When it rains it pours. I had a non-SVTP member buy 3 cars off me last week (OW, CO and Bullitt). I package all 3 cars up and ship them off via UPS on Wednesday. Well, Thursday afternoon I get a call from UPS saying the package was damaged at the processing warehouse and sent back to the store.

I was asked to come and look at the package. I go to UPS and see the box was severely damaged and taped up from the warehouse incident. The UPS store manager shows me the box and all the packing material inside is missing (packing peanuts) and 1 car is missing.

Before shipping I wrapped the cars in tissue paper and then wrapped them in bubble wrap before placing them in the box with the packing peanuts. There is no way you could tell which car was which. So, I'm assuming when the box busted open during processing the OW car just happened to be the one next to the damage and feel out and became separated from the package.

UPS store manager took pictures and sent them to a supervisor at the warehouse and asked if they could locate the OW car. I was at work Friday and UPS did NOT call me. So, I'm assuming the OW is lost or someone opened the bubble wrap and decided they liked it and wanted it. Or maybe I need to keep an eye on ebay or offer up to see if someone is trying to sell it.

Needless to say I was VERY pissed. Then I wake up Saturday morning to an active shooter situation here in El Paso and realize there are WAY more important things in life than a lost diecast car...……… Thank you to all who have offered prayers, support or positive action during this difficult time here.

Anyway, here are the pictures of the CO and Bullitt. They are NOT damaged and will be shipped out to the owner today. UPS will cover the loss of the OW, but not at what is cost me to build. Also, since the package only went to the processing warehouse and back UPS will reimburse me for shipping.

Unfortunately mistakes happen with every business at some point.

I'm glad you and your family are safe and sound.

Thank you Revvv!

Very true. Just sucks when you're trying to ensure people are satisfied with your product and service. People who purchase from me have very high standards. Fortunately, I have those same standards and people have liked what I have delivered so far.

Hopefully I can keep doing this, provided the demand is there :D.....

As some of you know, I occasionally paint 57 Chevy bodies for my Dad. He told me he wanted a nice blue one.

I thought what's a nicer blue than Sonic Blue? So, I decided to paint one of his cars Sonic Blue. However, this time I wanted to try a new technique when it came to spraying the clear coat. I sprayed the clear coat as normal. Then I sanded the clear coat with 2000 and then 3000 grit. This time, instead of polishing the clear, I decided to do a process called "Flow" coating and I resprayed the clear coat using a heavy flow.

I can't believe how good it turned out. This car is a 1/12 scale and a good size bigger than the 1/18 Cobra's. So, I don't think I will try this with the Cobra's as I think the clear would "fill" in areas such as body lines or the "COBRA" lettering on the rear bumper.

Anyway, just wanted to share a couple pictures.

With flash showing how deep and rich the Sonic Blue looks.

Okay,

As a heads up I will not be updating this thread for a while (have some other obligations).

However, I will keep this hobby going and I do have some projects in the works. Also, my brother has gotten in to a new hobby that I'm going to explore incorporating in my diecast builds.

I will not have these projects completed any time soon. So, in the mean time here is a teaser picture on the next Cobra diecast project. I normally do not like posting teaser pictures as when I look at a thread I want to see progress LOL.

However, figured I would throw this out there since I will not be updating this thread for a while.

I will still be dropping in on SVTP, so feel free to ask questions or hit me up if you want me to build a Cobra for you.

Hmmmmmm, what could it be LOL :D…………….
