I’m debating if I should attempt installation of the rxt1000 and 26 spline shaft. I’ve done everything to all the cars I’ve even owned. From doing the heads and timing set on my old sonic to fuel system and more to my current cobra. Only thing holding me back is the bunch of issues that can happen in adjusting the pivot ball wrong. I already have all the parts needed. Thanks for any feedback.

Go for it. Take your time and measure 3 times. If you can handle heads and timing on these engines you can handle adjusting a pivot ball.

That’s the part that makes me nervous. Lol.

Shorten the pivot by 4.5/5mm and go. I shortened mine @6mm and love it.

I also ran my first RXT stock length and loved it.

Read up on clearance at the fork and front of trans case. I know the magnum needs clearance, not sure on standard.

The standard T-56 doesn't need anything ground off. I did remove the weight from the fork for a bit more clearance. I can't remember if I went 5 or 6mm. I do know with the stock pivot ball the clutch fork in mine was shoved into the case.

Well the problem I ran into was that as the clutch wore a bit and the fingers moved back, it pressed the fork into the case and I starting slipping.

That's what happened to mine. Although I got to it before it started to slip. The previous owner installed the clutch in the car. It was pushing against the trans so hard that it popped away from the bellhousing when I loosened it. Everything is good with the new pivot ball now.
