Well here's my opinion on this - It's well worth the effort for a budget option brake system with improved braking and looks. Having some mechanical skills and a machine shop is a plus also. Keep in mind as @Mustang5L5 stated, any future brake maintenance / upgrades will not be a bolt on task. Anyway, I also did the PowerStop rear brake. I also HIGHLY recommend the Motive Power Bleeder, one person, no problem. Here's some pics.

Great research regardless and I understand your point since I don't see myself in making any brake changes in the future.

I didn't mean to downplay the entire setup at all. There's other reasons as well for me personally as to why I'm less enthusiastic about it. I'm an engineer by trade, and optimizing things is just in my nature. I need things to be perfect or I will lose sleep.

I'm still toying with the project though, so I haven't given up totally. I have the Caliper so might as well try a few more things. I actually purchased the other caliper from the recycler ($50/shipped) so I do still plan to poke around a bit with this setup.

I'm not against trying something different, after all I'm running Corvette C6 calipers on my car. Car stops damn good...but I wouldn't mind that brembo bling

I didnt read entire thread but i had to look up the ATS-V, and i was 100% sure it had 6-piston front calipers and it does. Is the title supposed to be ATS brembos? Or were the first ats-v's equipped with 4-piston?

You are correct. The thread title should be just ATS brembos and referring to the base model 12.6" 4-piston Brembo setup.

The '16-19 ATS-V has a 14.5" rotor and 6-piston Brembos. This is not the setup being discussed here.

Yes the title was supposed to be ATS Brembos. I went to try and fix it but of course it never would take. I know zero about Caddy's and someone (Post #40) pointed out it was wrong. I fixed in the body but would not let me fix the title.

Would be bad ass if someone was able to pull it off.

Gt500 rotor and the 6-piston setup? That would be bad ass.

Of course, would need 18" or even 19" to pull off.

Unfortunately the V calipers are expensive. At that price point, not worth it

Edit: looks like the Caddy XTS with J64 brakes gets a similar 4-piston brembo but for 14" brakes. Would be cool to try if you have the larger rims.

So, I'm still playing around. I realize I am taking a different approach that may not be available to everyone

I pressed the steel inserts out. Very easy to do and didn't take much force at all.

Here's my prototype insert modeled in CAD.

M12x1.75 with a 1mm offset.

Still need to triple check some dimensions. I want to model up the mating flange of the caliper and Sn95 spindle and check to see if this will fit. There's a lip on the caliper cup that I need to pay attention to. I could open it up a tad if needed but trying to avoid that.

I think I can even offset the hole slightly up to lower the caliper down on the rotor. Of course, I don't think it's much really so it won't do much to help with rotor coverage. There's still the issue of the curvature of the caliper and interference in the front and rear rotor channel before the pad fully covers the rotor surface.

Anyway, fun to play around with this stuff in 3D, but i'm going to try and machine up something.

I would be highly interested in purchasing the offset bushing from you if you were able to make them as modifying my knuckles is the only thing that is holding me back from moving forward with this setup.

The setup looks awesome but I really just don't want to drill out my spindles as I would like the option to maybe go even further and possibly bolt on a wilwood kit down the road at some point. but I am getting close to running out of pad on my factory brake pads now.

Sounds like you are doing the same thing as the Baer 13” gt kit. It’s a C5 base pbr caliper made to fit the spindle, and they work better than the stock cobra brakes. I just want to do a 14” 6 piston kit so I may fork out the bucks when my current pads wear out

That's the setup I currently have. Baer offered the bracket separately (now discontinued) that bolted directly to the SN95 spindle. I then sourced my own calipers (Off a C6 vette/Pontiac GTO) and refinished them to a more Mustang appropriate look.

Good point. Further updates i'll post into a separate thread and provide a link for all those subscribed to this one and interested.

I need to machine up the bushings. Fair warning, this may take me a few weeks
