I looked at them, just to rich for my blood based on my needs. Nice mowers though. I personally would go Xmarks before those though. My new gets delivered at 8 tomorrow. Finally, lol.
The only reason I’ll shell out the cash for one would be due to the sale price of the 2520. It’s only got 433 hours and it’s been garage kept so it’s in great shape. I should be able to get at least 13k for it.

The cub cadet looks damn nice for the money, my brother has the hone depot version and loves it so I’m sure one straight from the dealer is likely much more robust too.

On the topic of zero turns what is the general opinion of a scag patriot.

While earlier in this thread I mentioned I love my JD 2520, on my new property it is just over kill for my new needs which are pretty much all grass cutting with many tight spaces and double the acres of my last house. Thinking of selling the 2520 and scooping up a zero turn and snow blower and likely have enough left over to buy a shed to toss it all in so a score extra garage space back.

IMO, Scag makes a very good machine but they are overpriced.

I don’t mind the price as long as I’m paying for quality since really the 2520 cash will be used to pay for what ever I get. Now if I were buying from scratch I may be a little tighter on budget. I just want something that will last long term and has good parts/service availability locally to me.

That is really nice. Much nicer than the CC ZT I bought in '04. They've come a long way.

**** that thing looks badass.

Supposed to be a hell of a machine based on all the reviews and research I did.
In for the live stream... damn that was a buzz kill. Nice machine.
LOL
Nice mower. Does it have cup holders?
I am really digging the LED lights up front.
It does. I need to wire in a switch to turn them off when not needed. Pretty sure they're on whenever it's running. DRL's, lol.

I used to think that, until we finally bit the bullet and bought one at work for our 80 acres. Went with the Turf Tiger II because of the terrain, but it handles our brush better than the previous Laser Z we had...don’t even get me started about the 2 Dixie Choppers we sold or the Hustler. Dry cut is about on par with the Laser Z, but the Velocity deck simply outshines everything else in thick wet stuff. I’d like to have a Tiger Cat for our personal land but not willing to spend the money yet when the Kubota still manages to get the job done, albeit I’m sure in quite a bit more time.

I only have 1.5 acres, and my 10 yr old JD LA 175 does ok with the 54" deck. My yard is like a reverse mullet... party in the front, business im the back. It can hold 4 beers in the cup holders which need to be chugged while cutting the front (sort of flat) in order to have enough courage to cut the back. There's an 14% grade on the side (according to the FX4 truck app lol) lined with sticker bushes that will rip your limbs off. On top of that the pine needle droppings get you stuck, so while my fat ass is hanging off on one side trying not to flip, I'm spinning out still on the pine needles while getting my skin ripped off like that chick in Hellraiser. Yes I joust for spiders as well. One time the whole seat bracket ripped through the frame of the tractor, scared the living shit out of me! Of course I beefed it up with huge washers and stronger bolts and painted the bracket gloss black...because race car. I wear a full body suit when i mow minus a helmet which I should...but have yet in 10 years to finish a mow without bleeding.

The JD wont die, just replaced the sector steering gear..yea it decided to stop turning the other day lol... but the trans is about shot I think...not sure if zero turn would work for me or if I need a 4x4/awd rig...those are like 7-15k though...thanks for the vent!

I just sold my 15 year JD that still ran and worked great. These are so much faster and easy to use, especially around trees and stuff.
