Jeg's is advertising it as a complete conversion kit so I assume it would be pretty direct. This megasquirt thing sounds pretty promising, but I know from looking around the internet and people I've spoken to in person do say the dominator is top quality.

Agreed. Couple things I'd do if I went full dominator.

I'd run the GM stepper IAC. The OE Ford one doesn't always play well with aftermarket.

Holley Coils for sure, better than OEM ford.

Thanks for the input, I'm going to mull this for a little bit

With Holley don't you also have to watch out for the coil pack harness to be ass backwards on 4 valve cars?

When I decided to go stand alone late last year I read a bunch of rumors of pnp kits for the 96-04 cars but those rumors went back a few years and nothing was actually concrete. I ended up buying a ms3pro ultimate and wired it in parallel with my factory computer. I had a feeling as soon as I finished that they would announce something like this.

I think the Dominator is in another tier including price wise. Megasquirt started out years ago as a DIY "build it your own" EFI setup. It's technically open source EFI.

Megasquirt is the linux of the fuel injection world

I believe so.

Friend of mine literally just finished up his MS3x Pro and harness he built for his termi swapped car. He went racepak since the gauges don't work and all.

Couldn't have been any closer together in terms of time. Oh well

I haven't done enough research to find out more about this, but there's also not that many guys using it for our cars so resources are limited

Yes, it's definitely in another category as far as price

theres a holley group on facebook, might even be modular specific but I can't quite remember.

Im really surprised there isnt more buzz about this after looking around some. Hell, I posted it in the NA SVT facebook group and seemed like many didn't even know it was a thing.

We need to get more talking about this stuff here.

I agree, especially since a lot of the 03-04 tuning that's been around for years is becoming outdated and hard to make it compatible with new software

wonder if the GT or the 03-04 cobra PNP kit will work on the 01 cobra?

from what I was reading the 99-04 gt kit will work with Machs and cobras. The 03/04 cobra is what will use a different unit.

It would be nice if the 99-04gt kit would include the stuff for reverse lockout on the T56! You would still need a t56 trans harness but there are no pins for the reverse lockout on the oem computer

I plan to be using it with my new 10.5:1 e85 aluminator I’m building :)
I’ll be using a Whipple Gen4 Crusher at around 26psi. Unless the Gen5 is out by then!

Ecobewsts are Speed Density.....

As soon as the 96-98 is released, I'll buy one. I never wanted to replace the stock cluster.. This takes care of that issue..

Yeah, I know, but I'm pretty sure it's just a wee bit more refined than it was in the mid-80s.

So I'm really considering this as I'm about to make some big changes to my car and now would be the ideal time to switch ECU's. Plus I like the idea I can swap in my stock ECU for smog. But this leads me to my question:

Would my smog stuff be ok just sitting idly? Everything will still be there (EGR, EVAP, etc.) just not be used while the Megasquirt is in place. I need all that stuff there to pass the visual at smog time. And less hassle should I ever have to pop the hood. It's happened to me before.
