Absolutely not correct.

There are certainly advantages to speed density but to make a blanket statement about it being "better" is a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way from the truth. There is way too much nuance to type out if youve never tuned a car or understand airflow and fueling principles.

Agree to disagree I guess.

I’ve tuned map and maf. Generally map is more forgiving and makes more power. I’m no professional though.

Well this is interesting- wonder if the Megasquirt ECU would pass NYS inspections now?

And too bad I cant try it on my six

This could be pretty cool.

A friend is having issues with his GTO ECU, and he is having a hard time finding a trustworthy used one for a reasonable price (considering it too may fail in the same way). As availability to OEM ECU's becomes more difficult and prices of used and questionable OEM units shoot up, it will be nice to have new alternatives.

That's cool as hell, I would have to imagine one or the other would support my Mach as well. To have basically plug and play support for flex fuel and traction control would be amazing. With the knock control stuff I could probably sell my J&S unit and pay for almost half the new set up.

When looking at building modular cars, I always felt like they're under-equipped for engine controls. You'll have a lot more control/tuning/tweaking ability with the MS3.

Especially when you consider the power we're making these days and Im still a small fish "only" in the 700s on E85.

I just wasnt willing to replace all the harnesses and possibly the gauge cluster. If this works as advertised it's gonna be fantastic. You could have your car on an aftermarket EFI with all the stuff I already mentioned by lunch time or so

I began looking at aftermarket options the other day. I have Megasquirt for my 87 foxbody when I finish that build. If they do come out with this for the 03-04 Cobra I may jump on it.

Just for my own knowledge, how hard would it actually be to replace all the wiring and go with the Holley replacement?

They already have a couple cars on the dyno and tweaking the system. It's maybe a few months away max?

I love holley product, and generally I think the dominator/ecu/software is superior.

The one thing about dominator setups is they really are a spin off LS EFI systems. They adapt the circuits/outputs/inputs to work with ford sensors, but they work better with GM or Holley sensors/coils. Harness replacement won't be hard, you just need to make sure you have the whole kit/adapter harnesses handy.

You'll lose the bulk of the factory harness which is nice, but that also means you lose a lot of accessory circuits.

Jeg's is advertising it as a complete conversion kit so I assume it would be pretty direct. This megasquirt thing sounds pretty promising, but I know from looking around the internet and people I've spoken to in person do say the dominator is top quality.
