Well, nothing exciting today. They landed at the airport and we went to the hotel. Tomorrow starts the drive.

Day 4 Keystone SD there is a steam train that goes thru the black hills to Daly City and back. But that is a whole days trip
That makes for a long day, did that on the Durango to Silverton. The next time we took a bus one way and the train back

So today was just crushing miles. No real stops so to speak. 580 miles and almost 11 hours. Went from DC to Louisville. Found a sweet little mom and pop joint for lunch.
My daughter laughed. The forest/mountains here aren't what she's used too. She kept calling them hills.

Pretty nice. Mid 80s and sunny. I think it might have clipped 90
my wife had never seen mountains until I took her up to NC. When I took her out west a few years later she about shit, she didn't comprehend the difference when I kept telling her about it.
It is so cool, what you are doing! You and your kids will never forget this trip together. Sounds like you're a pretty amazing dad!
