MS3Pro plug and play just came out for 99-04 GT's with factory gauge cluster support. 1350 bucks but when you consider it's flex fuel, 44lb map, and general expansion of it, it's a killer.

SCT, HP Tuners, and any others have been put on notice. I'll probably buy one if I do a tork tech kit.

There's a 03/04 Cobra one in the works, along with 96-98. Pretty exciting considering the EPA is cracking down on tuners. Plug N Play may be the only answer here soon.

I mean this is good and all, but I highly doubt HPT is worrying too much. Their bread and butter comes from the 2011+ cars, not 2V's, NA 4V's and Terminators. SCT, yeah, they claim more of that market than HPT, but they're generally regarded as the lesser choice for more modern systems.

Correct. Completely unplug your factory ECU, plug this one in, run a vacuum line for the MAP, remove your MAF, and you're off and running. Base tune comes with it. Software is about 60 bucks

No MAF? That'd make me nervous lol.

If the 03-04 Cobra plug and play does come out in November then I’ll be buying one after the first of the year. I’m building a new high compression ported heads and cams motor now and this would be perfect. Flex fuel is something I’ve been wanting for some time now but didn’t want to drop the money they want for the other aftermarket ecu’s. I’ve liked what I’ve read about the megasquirt systems so far so a plug and play all but seals the deal for me!
Thanks for posting!

MalcolmV8 is a vendor. I suspect he’ll get his hands on one early.

That would be great. I’ve heard nothing but good things about him and his customer (and non customer) support.
Hopefully the flex fuel sensor allows the ecu to make all the proper adjustments to the tune based on ethanol content automatically without the need to manually switch back and forth.

Megasquirt is real popular in the older BMW scene, i was going to do a ms3x conversion on my 85 745i before i sold it.

I doubt itll happen but if they made a marauder compatible pcm i would strongly consider switching since i dont need emissions inspection

Going to map just means speed density? Every ford ecoboost is map/speed density stock. I thought the new 5.0s were speed density now too?

Would this pcm still pass a emission ready test via obd2 port?

I bet you could find a way to fool it.

But in terms of actual emissions functionality, nada.

Car runs so much better on map it's ridiculous. Just have to understand the tables and it's easy.

Absolutely not correct.

There are certainly advantages to speed density but to make a blanket statement about it being "better" is a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way from the truth. There is way too much nuance to type out if youve never tuned a car or understand airflow and fueling principles.

From what I read, you can keep your MAF and it retains function of all warning lights so it may be OBDII compatible for us that have emissions.

IIRC only the trucks are speed density. Mustangs still have a slot style MAF

Also I really doubt this'll be smog legal
