Which car was revealed better?

Which car shows the company's commitment / passion better?

Which car has more hype / demand going into production?

Which car will be faster around the track?

Which car will be easier to get at MSRP?

How times have changed. Remember when FORD ****ED Chevy over during their ZL1 launch? Dropped 662bhp on the world and BOOM...everyone was talking about the new Shelby.

Now 760 is DAMN good...but Dodge still owns the HP market and nothing has topped them yet. That will change soon.

But just look how Chevy launched this thing. Freaking Airplane Hanger. Invited Vette clubs from all over the country. Had a freaking fighter plane accelerate with the car towards the stage.

How did Ford drop the GT500 on us? With silly modern family playing a video game and it lowers down on strings. HAHAHAHHA

But the C8 has just dominated the car world. It's basically DESTROYED the GT500 hype. Which is a good thing for guys looking to get one now. ADM's will come down. Go to any forum and guys are cancelling orders on other makes to go C8.

A year from now, a twin turbo V8 is coming with over 750bhp. The Z06 will just slay and starting price will be 85K and top out a little over 100K (just like the GT500 Track Pack).

What Ford needs to do now to get conversation back is simple: DROP SOME PERFORMANCE NUMBERS ON US!!!! WTF are we waiting for. Put our a video this week. 0-60. 1/4. Top Speed. The ring lap time. SOMETHING!

This whole WAIT AND SEE approach by FORD is just lame now. Dealers are taking your money and you have NO IDEA what the car does. Come on FORD. You can do better than this.

I think people are really starting to focus on the numbers. Not the numbers in relation to the specs of these cars, but the number of GT500 threads you start.

I do agree with you that Dodge has been bringing it, and the C8 will be a bad mofo. There is a large portion of consumers who don’t need the latest, greatest, fastest car to enjoy it. If I bought a GT500 and some test shows a C8 bests it on lap times, and the Demon is .2 seconds faster in the 1/4, I would not think I have an inferior vehicle. Cars are about passion and how they make you feel, and everyone has their own flavor.

I think Ford's reveal was a lot better than Chevy's

As for everything else you said you have to wait till this all plays out in real life when these cars start to roll out of dealerships

Ford's low key understated reveal was just that, their only making a few k of these, it's not the next gen mustang or anything, just a new flagship.

G.m. needs this to be a hit, so they played the media for hype.

And there is a lot of room for the c8 to be a complete debacle.
The 60k price tag is almost more of a red flag... It's screaming we went cheap somewhere, buy it and find out.

When you look at all the information and tech revealed, the C8 launch absolutely blows the GT500’s out of the water. There are detailed tech articles all over already, covering all that you would ever want to know about the C8. The nitty gritty engineering articles out there (especially Popular Mechanics) are particularly interesting to me. Like the car or not, all that information should make any car enthusiast salivate. I’d highly recommend reading how they designed and engineered the high pressure die-cast frame components in-house. Very trick. It having capabilities like that that allow you to keep your costs in check, which translates directly back to the MSRP.

The GT500 reveal was soooo drawn out. The Twitter puzzle HP reveal was a complete joke......seriously....a puzzle....lol! GM just threw everything on the table at once and I give them big credit for that.

Both are seriously badass cars. To even be arguing which one is better, yada yada yada is beyond stupid. Let’s enjoy that the U.S. even offers cars like these anymore. The clock is definitely ticking on these type of cars.

Honestly zero ****s given. Can’t wait to see some track times on the GT500 I think it looks good. Dodge is killing it with horsepower fun cars and marketing. The C8 will be a bad mother ****er. The performance, price tag, can’t wait to see the higher trim lines. It’s a great time in the performance car industry being an enthusiast.

That said OP is a troll that posts constant stupid threads and probably won’t even buy a GT500 he also blows tree hundred.

How bout this. The manufacturer that can bring in more value per unit for its dealers wins the reveal contest?

That is the marketing game right op? Make the buyer spend too much....

Can you tell me how fast it is in the 1/4, or around any of the tracks GM tests at and shares times from?

I think they will let their new owners find that out;) Don’t want to get themselves in a Demon scenario.

Case in point, you can go on the C8’s site right now and find out it’s cylinder combustion volume and the type of aluminum it uses for it’s castings. That’s pretty neat. Haven’t had any luck finding anything official like this from Ford.

Fords Marketing Director stepping down?
Ford will not sell more GT500's then Corvettes.
Your right! Because GM will build more Corvette’s than they can sell and in ten months from now take 12k off MSRP Ford builds a small amount of vehicles and the dealers mark them up! A year later the Dealers still want 5k over MSRP Look how many GT350’s are still for sale! Brand New....
