If Anyone from Ford is reading some of these posts? Or someone that knows someone at Ford they really need to get back to the drawing board and sell these cars at MSRP or below so people are able to purchase them! With the ADM’s It makes some people Not even want one.... Lots of other options! Turned me Off after waiting all this time, I would have purchased something else a year ago even though I really don’t need anything I’m just a car Nut......Spend money and then ask yourself did I really need this? The answer is NO ..
But did you really want it? YES.. With the ADM I 100% Don’t want it and when it comes down to MSRP I will have already purchased something else!

All the ADM discussions kinda bore me... It comes down to what's it worth and how will it retain the cost. I think GM just kicked Ford in the nuts with a sub 60K mid-engine exotic all new body style that you can get for 60K.

Makes spending 75k on a MSRP base GT500 painful and ADM makes it worse yet. Before today, it seemed more reasonable, but now, not so much. I bet demand is drying up pretty fast and ADM's will trail off faster now than I expected.

I'll be shocked if the base C8 has a 5 in the first digit, at that price point I don't see competition from any sports car.

How many GT350 are still on dealers lots?

This New 2020 Corvette lets you choose tons of color, Seat, Design options ect. Like ordering a Ferrari. I couldn’t even order a Base GT500 Give me a Break! And that 18k Carbon Wheel & Wing package? 10k Painted stripes? Really!

One thing is I have not looked at the vette engineering and design, so there is a small possibility they made poor cost optimizations we would not be happy with. I know I had a base 13 boxster, traded it for a base 14 C7, and I missed the quality of the Porsche in the interior/electronics and so I eventually went back/up to a 15 GTS boxster (then to a 13 M3 vert, big mistake) and back to another GTS Boxster which I still have and enjoy... I am not expecting Porsche quality, but I have been impressed with the recent ZL1 interior compared to earlier cars and you know there is a lot of leverage. Cautiously optimistic for the C8 and will give it some slack for the 5 handle.

LOL I think a lot of you should be go to a Vette forum with all the Ford sucks talk. First, the GT500 getting an ADM isn't Ford's fault. It's dealers. Just like the Demon has an ADM. Second, the GT500 will be produced in limited amounts versus the base Vette. IMO you need to compare the price of a higher trim, probably less quantity Vette then the very base model. A regular Mustang GT doesn't pull an ADM.

This is a stingray model we are talking about, the car is a lot lighter hence the sub 3 second 0-60. But that is it, the GT500 will continue to pull harder once past that mark and the new C8 Stingray will be seeing tail lights. I would not be surprised it does mid 11s and the GT500 should do 10.6-10.8. Time will tell.

I agree with this although I think the C8 will eat the gt500 on the track.

Well we will see, this is the first year of a mid engine from Chevy and lets see if they did it correctly.. All the euro cars with this setup have been at it for years.

The car has been in development for nearly a decade. Its the first model year but its hardly new to the engineers, I think they put out a massive amount of money on engineering a car that they can build affordably and sell in the masses

This is an accident waiting to happen. Talk about a major distraction.

That is actually worse than the audio controls on the Lexus UX.... and that was a hard one to beat.

Rest of the C8 looks good. .... Chevy kinda did one up Ford this round in a big way.

Yet another reason Jim "We're a Mobility company" Hackett needs to GTFO as Ford CEO.

I never said killer, I said possibly better.

It’s a half second quicker to 60, and it’s unlikely to fall on its face anytime after that. Will a GT500 reel it in by a full quarter? Maybe.

And I’m sure it’s going to perform quite well at a track even in stock trim. Will it outperform the option packages available on the shelby for 15-40,000 dollars more?

Maybe not, but I’m sure it won’t be ages behind, especially considering the price difference.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s going to be better at anything, but at the point, it could be considered an “option” to the Gt500 assuming 4 seats aren’t required.

0-60 is the last bastion for the jean shorts new balance shoe wearing era. makes no difference in the real world

its going to be 500lbs lighter, 200hp shy, and 1000rpm less. it will run mid-high 11s at 122-125mph.

dont get me wrong, i do want a 4 seater, so its off the table, I DO like the looks of it. Lets be real, this is a BASE model. speculating its going to trounce any higher end model of any car is a bit unfounded

This is a big difference between Chevy and Ford marketing, Ford hasn't even shared any pictures of it's base model, which makes up 75% of the available cars. Chevy already had its Visualizer up and running on the day of the reveal. Ford marketing sucks.

Base C8 will not do sub 3 seconds 0-60, only the Z51 optioned vette will, and honestly how much more is that going to be? $10k I am thinking which will put it in the range of a base GT500.
