I'm kinda digging the C8. I share the same option as most in here. The front and sides look aggressive yet elegant. The rear could look better, but not horrible or a deal breaker. The cockpit is so-so; I wonder how it'll hold up over time. Performance for the cost is a game-changer. Just like that, the C7 market is going to tank lol

Does it seriously start for around $60,000? I heard it was going to start at $100,000.

I think the base model will and the z06 will obviously be significantly higher, no different than the gt and gt500's

Wow Chevy really hit a home run with this! Funny thing about the OP saying it’s game over for Ford.......Chevy played themselves too because who will go for the Camaro ZL1 that is close to price with the mustang GT 350 and 500 when the C8 Vette is undercutting both? Might be the reason the Camaro is going away soon.

Yah, I might be going C7 window shopping this weekend. Love the concept of the C8, but that fake black quarter window triggers Fiero PTSD. Pair that with GM’s track record of first gen heat and electrical problems and this one’s a hard pass. Anyone care to wager how long it’ll take the first C8 fire videos to pop up on YouTube?

Born and raised Brockton. Living in Naples.
There was a chowda head that moved down after retirement to the island I used to work on. His nickname was captain coe.

If you and him aren't one in the same, I would be shocked.

I'm thinking the base will do

0-60: 2.9
1/4 Mile: 10.3@130

Hard to tell though. It's just SO DAMN light and has 8 speed DCT and WAY BETTER aerodynamics than the GT500.

I think both cars will be dead even and the Vette will just SMOKE it around a track. Not to mention how much more fun a mid-engine car is to drive. Interior is like a fighter plane. Just really blown away by Chevy's attention to detail inside and out on this car. Ford mailed it in.
You are dreaming if you think a base c8 will do 10.3. LOL
Retarded post is retarded. of course a 2 seater sports car is going to be lighter than a 2+2 GT car.

These trolls thinking Ford made a mistake releasing the GT500 too late. These cars arent even in the same category. Price may be comparable, but comparing the GT500 to a corvette is a compliment to the GT500.
