Finally I secured something to occupy my time with. Since the TT DSG car seemed to be a hit, I decided to try something new....and also...grey. This time I’ll document it start to finish. Why did I pick this roller? Because out of the 40+ mustangs I’ve possessed, I’ve never had a new edge Saleen and I’ve never had a mineral grey car. In fact I used to hate this color when it first came out. I also hated broccoli at first only for it to become one of my favorite side dishes. So what are my plans? I know three things for sure
1) I’m going to change everything possible and make every square inch of the car top notch
2) I’m going to blow my budget
3) with the help of good friend or two and a super talented mechanic...we’re going to get this thing done in under 60 days if it kills us. Deadline....Woodward dream cruise 2019

With that said I’ve been on the road for 900 miles and I want a shower/cold beverage.

Here’s 3 teaser pics that will give you SOME idea what’s about to happen. Follow along View attachment 1581403View attachment 1581404View attachment 1581405

How about day 61 for a Teal ‘93 Cobra Coyote build?
You know I’m serious :)

I know you are. I already talked with him about your build. We're both down to help you get that thing on the street brother....unless it will be riding on AFS wheels....I don't want that negative energy anywhere near me ;)

Good point, I should just ship him all 4, because, you know, karma.
Either way, this car will look sick on an MG/CF theme. And may have some fun with a built GT500 I know at Woodward. Guy can’t drive tho :)

Let’s get this thing rolling with some before shots of the...roller. I always like to remember how bad something is when it starts so I can enjoy the end result after leaving no stone unturned. This car is definitely a 10 footer at best. The good news, it’s a real Saleen. The bad, it’s definitely had some pretty substandard paint/body work at some point. Some other nice findings like the car being jacked up by the core support a time or five.

Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that these cars are nearly 20 years old now and the vast majority of them have a history that remains hidden until we tear em down. I’ve never been afraid of cosmetic damage. It can be made new again. As long as the bones are good I’m not scared of any car....depending on what I’m paying of course. This car needs...everything. My realistic estimate of what it will take to meet my expectations when all is said and done? Between $22-$25k. Some might say that’s a waste of money. I say wait until the end to determine if that’s the case or not. So tonight we’re going to get everything suspension and rear end wise out from under the car and get it ready for the newly built 8.8 and full MM suspension including coil overs on all four, torque arm and panhard bar. Once it’s rolling again on the new suspension....off to paint and body it will go. Without further delay here’s some fun/scary starting pics. I could post 20 more but here’s the general theme of the car’s current condition.

Some of the positives. The car has a pretty clean shaved bay. That was one of the big selling features for me since I know what a pain that is and how time/cost consuming it is as well. This will allow for an ultra clean finished product as we wire in the Holley EFI. It’s very clean and straight underneath. And lastly the real Saleen part

You didn’t miss it....I just didn’t say anything yet :) I’ll reveal that soon. There’s still some parts I am in the process of tracking down to finalize everything. It’s not a coyote though. That’s not a 60 day build. At least not for 2 guys only working evenings on the car
