She’s dirty now. Stock engine and transmission with a Vortech V2 TI and Treadstone intercooler. On the stock pulley it sees 10lbs of boost and makes 403rwhp. It needs new upholstery. It’s a fun car and I think I’m going to keep it.

the 2v's have a special place in my heart as well

I remember when the 99s first came out and all the anticipation. I vividly remember the first time I seen one and remember just how smooth the body lines were with the hood and all. It seemed like the yellow GTs were EVERYWHERE! I counted 9 of them at a red light once. Now they are all but gone I hadn't seen a yellow GT in years.

of all year stangs I prefer the 99-04 new edge body style over all else. The 94-95 always looked off to me the 96-98 just didnt look right the 99-04s were perfection. The 05-09 was just hideous the 11-14s were better 15+ are so so.

.

I couldn't agree More, although I do like 96-98 Cobras.. they have just enough styling cues to make them appealing I think.. Except for @98 svt ..his car is more ugly than a Brown 71 Grande

Kinda Funny you mention Yellow GT, I have a buddies 99 Chrome Yellow GT at my place right now and it is one of only 2 that I have seen in YEARS. He actually wrecked the car at one point, but I helped convince to hang onto it and fix it I will have to post a pic.

The car is cheap enough for a project but nothing is cheap with mod engines. You might be looking at twice your stated budget to both fix it up (general maintenance) and make it fast and that is just for parts. Labor would be extra if you weren't doing all the work yourself. If you went with used parts you could do it cheaper but used parts are always a crapshoot.

That’s the truth. I have way more in mine than I thought I would for just 400hp. I bought mine for $5500 about 5 years ago. It just had catback exhaust and the paint was rough. I originally told myself I was just going to put a Kenne Bell on it and call it a day. Early on I took the car to a road course event and realized it was lacking in the handling department even though the Bullitt was supposed to have better struts, sway bar and springs. I bought a Maximum Motorsports Road and Tack package, 3.73 gears, 31 spline carrier, braided brake lines and hardened axles. It completely changed the car. At the time, my dad ran a body shop and I was able to take the car apart and put in some time sanding and got it painted for cheap. I thought the Mach stereo sucked and removed the plastic box and replaced everything. When it came to the power adder I wanted something I could grow with and didn’t want to repurchase anything because I went cheap. I was also worried about heat soak, I live in Florida. I considered a coyote swap but it was expensive for 380rwhp and, at the time, didn’t have any blower options for the swap. I settled on a Vortech V2 TI. I bought a TIG welder and welded my own aluminum tube for the intercooler. I splurged on the injectors and bought ID1000s. Again, I didn’t want to buy anything again because I was cheap. So, yeah, I have a lot in this car. If the engine blows I’ll just get forged internals and get a smaller pulley on the blower.

Search YouTube for Andrew Lavender. He has an impressive 2valve that might give you some ideas.

If you spray a 2V you better pray. The plastic manifold will become a projectile.

Thanks for askin, but nah I've been slacking on it... a few weeks ago I missed out on a complete Mach 1 motor for sale local and that kind of killed my motivation. I Did get a low mileage Mach rear end from him though and found some low mile stock Mach1 suspension for dirt cheap, so At least I've got something to get started on !
