No kidding. I’ve tried to read up on different models of Roush Mustangs through the Roush website and it’s like they just kick the older models to the curb. I can’t find anything about them on their site. Sounds like you had a good find on those blocks. I’m sure they’re not easy to get ahold of. Good luck with your projects!

The info is out there but you will have to find it. Took years for me to learn what I do now on their cars because Roush is very hush hush on them. And you are correct. They have the very bad habit of forgetting about their older models. It’s even worse for New Edge and SN-95 Roush models than the S197 I cars. Last time I checked you were able to get the 3V body kit from Roush still. Now if that’s still accurate I’m not sure. Might be something to check out.

Oh really? I’ll have to look into that. Thanks for the info.

My plan as of right now is to go for a mostly blacked out look cosmetically. Performance wise, nothing too crazy. I want to keep it NA. Definitely no nitrous kits. If it was a drag car, maybe. But its purpose for me is a street car. Right now I’m thinking an intake, throttle body, tune, 4.10 gearing, short throw, exhaust of course, and a catch can. I’m sure there will be more eventually.
I don’t plan on putting a ton of miles on this car. It’ll be a weekend warrior for sure so I could see some injectors and just general fuel delivery parts later on down the road as gas mileage won’t be a big factor.
Like I said, my knowledge is limited on this stuff and I am welcome to suggestions!

Congrats on the new car, I have a 2005 and an 18 myself.
After building the 05 up in stages and doing full bolt -ons and cams and now a blower I can give some advise
Intake and a good tune do make a difference and change the sound to make the car feel faster (tune is responsible for most of the increase the tune helps with intake noise.
Skip the throttle body, its been tested to only be a restriction if your boosted, I tried it and for the cost there was nearly no benefit.
4.10's are great and will be probably the biggest bang for your buck mod as far as changing the feel of the car.
Short throw-stock shifter is actually pretty good, everything else will be more notchy and expose weakensses with the trans. MGW is the go to if you decide to (I went through a couple and tried others and the adjustable MGW is levels above the others)
Mufflers are great for sound but headers will also give you an increase in power.
Look up "Lito"for tuning, he is regarded as one of if not the best 3V tuners in the world.
Fuel and injectors -you will not need to touch either when NA

A bit late to this thread. Pick up an 06 GT Premium with 23K this Saturday. Supercharger and full exhaust (long tubes etc.) Tune, Intake and some other goodies as well as wheels and Nitto drag radials. $14K. I think you did just fine at $12,500.

$14k is quite the deal for such low mileage and the supercharger/exhaust.

Two years ago, I paid $20k for my 08 with 17k miles and Kenne Belle, full exhaust, 20" rims, etc.

I had to admit to myself that I overpaid by a couple thousand. But, $14k for a similarly optioned 06, close in mileage, just two years later, is still a good deal.

99 & 44/100% sure they're OE, and 2008 OE at that.

I think they're what's been referred to as the "Fanblade" wheel, except that the "web" areas of the spokes on OP's wheels appear to have been given a little paint for accent.

I don't think they were very common - most people got the Bullitt/Torq-Thrust style instead. My dealer told me that they'd never ordered a car with fanblades, and that was when I was looking into getting my '08, well into the 2008 model run.

Straight out of the 2008 Mustang brochure . . .

Just a heads up, those wheels (including the black bit in the web of the spokes) are absolutely factory. I want to say they changed from pure silver to the silver w/ black webs in '08. The '08 GT 'Vert I used to have had those wheels. I loved them.
