So my go to of course was either the McLeod RST or RXT. But I always see like a handful of people of people having issues whether it be chatter, engagement point issue, or failure with them and most people not having one problem.

Haven’t heard much about the Exedy, Spec, or Centerforce DYAD clutch.

Anyone care to chime in who has any one of the mentioned clutches above? Thanks!

If the car is a true DD the RXT/RST will be more on/off feel but is very manageable.

For a nice smooth real everyday dd the centerforce has a nice smooth engagement

Of course it’ll be a genuine DD with the occasional trips to “Mexico”

Considering the RST as well for my '14 GT Track Pack. I bought the car used with 44k miles so I am not quite sure how a factory pedal should engage....but mine is right off the floor....so I am guessing it's time for one. Future plans for a power adder so I want to install something that can handle 600 flywheel.

The McLeod clutches seem to have a really high engagement point. I ran the RXT on my old Cobra and I never cared for how it engaged at the very top. As others have said the pedal feel is extremely light and you won't have any issues shifting at high rpm.

Installed a RST. Pedal feel is softer than stock. It does let out at the top of travel so stalling out can be a thing until you're use to reprogramming how you've always let out from a stop.

To me, that’s the only downside to those clutches. No me gusta top engagement, especially if it’s grabby.

Installed the Mantic dual clutch last week. Still working on the bedding process, but so far its very nice. My McLeod locked me out of first at every stop and I’d have to go from 3rd to 4th repeatedly until it went into one of those, then I could get in first. The Mantic, so far, is very smooth and I can get in any gear without issue.

Gruca,

That is a very nice looking clutch (looks like industrial high art, lol) and it has a hefty pricetag. But it's working flawlessly and that's priceless. Once the break-in process is finished, please post an update.

I’ve heard good things about the twin disc Mantic, and the Centerforce DYAD

So I have just finished the bedding process on the mantic twin disc and sent it for the first time yesterday. I love this clutch, it’s paired with a Barton short throw and the setup is a beast. I’m gonna see what it does at the track real real soon

If you don't mind my asking, why are you choosing to go twin disc? How much power are you producing and what is your end goal (power wise, racing wise, clutch feel, engagement, longevity etc)? Also you mentioned you do not like grabby on/off clutches. That typically comes with high tq clutches, and discs coated in ceramic.

If money is no value to you Mantic can't be beat. The make a forgiving twin disc that is smooth and hides a lot of the downsides of a twin disc. I decided it against it though after talking with Mantic. I believe his name was Geoff and he is an A+ rep for your company, but being told/recommended to send it in every ~30K miles to resurface some components (I was told it will cost around ~$600-$700) is not something I want to do given the initial price tag. The Exedy twin disc was something I considered when replacing my own clutch, but I don't like clutches that left off at the top of travel, nor do I like clutches that are lighter than the stock clutch feel. Centerforce DYAD is a solid choice if you wanted to go twin disc from what I have read, and they are organic discs which is longer lasting than ceramic that may be less grabby than an RXT. Outside of that I can't personally speak to it.
As far as McLeod goes I was going to go with the RST initially before getting into research as it was a twin organic disc and I am going Roush SC with a VMP tune, but decided against McLeod anything. They seem way to hit or miss for both the McLeod RST and RXT units.

RXT without a doubt. I've had people who aren't the best at driving stick take my car for a ride and were able to drive it with ease.

So no issues with it grabbing hard or releasing toward the top?

McCleod RXT here. Pedal is nice and light, but must be pushed all the way to floor when shifting otherwise my T56 Magnum XL will voice its objections with slight grind.

You do need a little finesse when taking off or some chattering may result. I let a few people drive it and some have trouble. My best buddy is a stellar driver and he hopped right in and drove it like a pro right from the get-go.
